Installation and set up was straight forward using the emailed instructions. After initial set up, I experienced extremely high ph and carbonate levels that were off the chart on the test strips. I purchased new test strips and ph was around 10.5 with the raw well water having an initial ph of 6.4. I contacted customer service and was instructed to perform 4 manual regenerations with backwashing set to 15 minutes (1 a day for 4 days). Customer service was outstanding. Had inadvertently pulled the tube up a few inches out of the filter when taking the transport cap off. Customer service was able to provide quick and clear instructions via email on how to resolve the problem. It did the trick. Surprised, is most likely the best way to explain my feeling once the system was installed. I had the water tested and found that the hardness was at 0.0 after installation. I did, however, change from sodium chloride to potassium chloride as the taste of salt was a bit unsettling. With the change, however, the water tastes fine. Five stars for the filter. I installed it one month ago and just had the water tested this week. Fluoride is now 0 PPM which is down from between 0.3 and 0.7 ppm before the filter. Chlorine is 0 ppm (I don't know what it was before). And all other (VOCs, metals, etc.) are undetectable (most) or a really low (handful). Two stars on the instructions.
