After the COVID shot I began having a bitter taste in my mouth. Eventually I couldn’t drink anything but water. But I had the idea of trying a weak low acid tea. A weak tea is made with water you can put your finger in and is only steeped a short time. It worked. This green tea tastes good to me

Nio Teas did an amazing job in ensuring that my tea was delivered to me. In the past, I've had issues with other companies using the shipping service and when expressed after that service lost my package, Nio Teas fixed the issue allowing me to receive my package.
As per the Tea itself, it was worth the try. I wanted this for its higher caffeine content and I am enjoying it mixed with a more floral tea, as the gyokuro is more vegetal.

Just finished my first bag of karigane. It was excellent. The tea has a sweet, vegatal taste and aroma. It is very mild, absolutely no bitterness whatsoever. Two to three infusions are perfect following the suggested brewing on the website. I look forward to my early morning tea every day.
As a side note, I turned 80 years old last November and just discovered how fantastic green tea is, primarily due to Nio teas.

In a small kyusu of between 4-5 ounces I pour water that has been cooling for about 3min and 30 seconds from its initial 190 degrees (just a guess, I have a hot water dispenser of sorts) in a yuzamashi onto 3 grams. I pour out immediately. This has produced the best results so far. The tea is has a full body and is slightly sweet with a vegetal and sea-like taste. Excellent.

The tea leaves smell so fresh and full of sweetness. I like how it releases it's syrupy sweetness in every cup, making you wanting more and more. The astrigency is almost absent, so nice for your palate and aftertaste notes to understand them better. The deep green broth gives me a hint of locked sweet and fresh flavors ready to get released in your palate. The aftertaste remains with sweetness all over with nice fresh vegetables like spinach and also a very small hint of butter.
