I started brewing green tea a year and a half ago. I soon preferred Japanese over Chinese tea. I really liked Gyokuro. Then I found Sencha from Tio teas. I like it so much I drink it every day now. It is pictured here with my hand-crafted tea cup from Ireland. I will soon order from Tio more of this tea as well as my first Kyusu.

An excellent way to sample the different nuances of various Matchas. There's a good range between thickness and flavour profiles. Photo is off Noike which was better than expected for a cheaper Matcha. All excellent quality though.

Love the matcha! Has a natural sweetness to it. Wish it came in a tin but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I learnt that the matcha Nio teas has is sourced directly from farmers too. Will be ordering again.

This matcha is incredibly high quality, and the bamboo whisk is by far the best I’ve ever used. It’s durable, doesn’t break easily, and blends the matcha perfectly. I’ve been using it for about a month now, and every time I get a smooth, clump-free cup. I highly recommend trying both – definitely worth it!

A delightful umani rich gyokuro, I'll be sad to see it fade from existence. Flavor is both light, but mineral rich, and faintly reminiscent of a kombu stock. The nose is sweet, with notes of young grass, kelp/seaweed, and an underlying floral note I can't place. The feel is smooth, with more body than the nose and flavor profile would suggest, with a pleasantly long evolution.

The dry leaf smells wonderfully fresh and slightly sweet. The color and structure of the leaves are exemplary. The leaf is predominantly deep green and consists primarily of several centimeters long needles, along with some smaller components. Absolutely delicious!! I decided to purchase largely on a whim and was so impressed that I absolutely have a new hobby now. The teapots are fantastic and every tea is just wonderful. For a beginner, I've found the kukicha varieties to be the best to ease me in -- I haven't even finished the sampler pack, and I'm already planning to order a bag of Osada Kukicha. This matcha is exacly what you would expect - velvety with sweet and umami flavours. I tend to dilute my matcha a bit more so it naturally turns more mild. I would definitely buy this one again. By the time I got to my morning drinking spot, the foam on the matcha has fallen but it was there, I promise! ;-)

I received two tea as part of Monthly Tea Club #7 package. Gyokuro Cha Meijin and Gyokuro Karigane. Really love Gyokuro Cha Meijin, it tastes light, fresh, smell great. Will definitely reorder. Gyokuro Karigane has a toasty feel which I personally do not prefer. So, I won't order it again. But whoever likes a little bit of roastiness from the tea, should try it because it does taste great.

I was nonplussed, at first, because of the tea's unfamiliar appearance. But my goodness, the flavor is delightful. Make sure the water is well-filtered, because the taste of chloramine ruins a cup of tea. I use water at about 60° C. (140° F.), and steep the first pour for 2min. Delicious!
