Loving my early Christmas gift, the radically light weight Spectre. The mesh is great, it does a decent job at repelling water if it’s only drizzling, so you don’t necessarily have to be blocked by the rain fly and actually enjoy seeing the outdoors too! Had a fantastic first outing with my haven xl. I spent several days canoeing in the bayous of Louisiana and lakes in Arkansas. It was easy to set up and kept me up off the wet ground in a cypress swamp as well as kept me dry through hours of rain. So comfortable, I slept every night as well as I do in my own bed, except for the one night I accidentally set up in a grove of wild pecan trees that kept dropping nuts all night. I recently spent a night camping at 2°F in the Haven XL with the insulated pad and cover, and it was fantastic. Super comfortable, and the added insulation of the pad cover really helped a lot. Loving the Haven Safari hammock/tent (pad however not so great but will review that separately) I found the Safari comfortable, easy to set up and use, and after a month of continuous use in both subzero and 25°C temperatures I definitely feel I made the right choice. In the cold and wet however, a lot of condensation builds up inside, something that would be nice to get resolved somehow. I used my Spectre once on my farm property woods in middle Tennessee so did not have to carry in backpack. First time set up fairly easy and straightforward.
