This thing is impressive. I bought it without being able to see it in action (thanks covid) so I was nervous. Apparently electric fireplaces have come a very long way. This really is a beautiful fire! So realistic looking with the edge to edge glass which really makes the flames stand out. Love how you can have it on decoration mode only without having to use heat function. You can also change the flame with a range of colour themes. The ice crystal embers offer a sparkle which reflects the light. The fact that it is energy efficient too was a real seller to us. Very pleased with the fireplace. Love the updated look to our bedroom. Sleep timer is great. While the fireplace has a lot of settings and adjustments, we have dialed in a natural look we use most of the time. Hasn't been cold enough to use the heat function so cannot speak to that. Appearance exceeded expectations once desired settings chosen. We selected this fireplace partly as there are 5 “flame speeds” - many electric fires have an unrealistic “fast” speed. This model looks much better with its slower speed. Adding large glass rocks as well as driftwood surprised us adding more realism.
