Had a few hiccups with the fireplace. We were rather concerned with the immense amount of heat coming out the vent making the mantle too hot to touch. But our contractor added a piece at the bottom to funnel the air outward instead of downward and are now quite happy. Also love having it hang on the mantle so it feels more like a real fireplace and can decorate for the holidays. Everything was great,the trim kit fit perfect everywhere except on the top side for us. For our particular dimension requirements,I had to cut and re-bend the top trim piece.I used a slicer disc on a grinder and hand bent a new folded edge,along the whole top edge left to right to get trim kit to fit correctly inside the tile surrounding the fireplace where the insert would go. I wanted it to fit within the space we had,inside of the tiles that surrounding the insert. It turned out great I think...

Wa Hoo eey!!!! We love this 36 inch fireplace. Christmas decorations can sit safely around it and the TV is mounted above it. No problems with heat or flames. I am 83 years old and installed it all by myself. It is so nice to enjoy the ambivance of the fire while watching TV or entertaining in our living room. First of all, Electric Fireplaces Depot was awesome! They were very responsive, quick shipping, and great prices. The fireplace is perfect. At first we used a mixture of the crystals, but ultimately decided that we likes the smoked ones best. The flames look great, and because of the shallow depth they don't look like they sit behind the logs. We bought this, sight unseen, for our new build after an issue and not being able to install gas. I was devastated. But found this water-vapor fireplace and thought we would give it a try. We love our new Dimplex electric fireplace! This is our first electric fireplace and we knew it would not be the same as our previous gas fireplace, but it has not disappointed us at all!
