Excellent painting. The first comment I got was after I finished my wife's face and our daughter said "that's Mom". I would recommend that you go over your photo with a fine tooth comb and do any photoshopping you want before getting the kit. There were SEVERAL places where I thought the kit was wrong, but when I looked at the photo, I see that the kit is accurate. The end result is wonderful. I had plenty of paint for each of the colors so I didn't run out. The brushes held up well and didn't fall apart. And the picture itself looks like the original photo I took in Kona Hawaii.

The canvas quality is good, but a primer coat is necessary for small details. The paint covers well, but depending on the shade, there's a difference in viscosity that may require a little water....
Otherwise, we paint with brushes purchased elsewhere to have more different sizes (we have a painting done according to a photo), which are necessary for very small surfaces...

I really enjoyed working on this painting of my dog! It was my first (adult) paint-by-number experience. I ended up buying a very small paintbrush since the ones provided weren't small enough, and that helped immensely. I worked on it on and off over the course of a year and a half, and by the end of that time some of the paints in the little containers had started drying out, so make sure you shut the lids tightly! This is such a beautiful tribute to our best boy and I can't wait to frame it.
