This is my first knife engraved with the Monport GA-60W MOPA. This was my first time using a laser of any kind. Like anything new there is a learning curve. I have had The Mon port 20watt fiber laser about 2 weeks and have used it to mark several dozen items. Flat and round with the Rotary axis. Very easy to setup and start marking. Shipping took right at 2 weeks as I had expected. Freight company was great and called to set a delivery appointment and arrived on time. I wasn't able to be there but the driver was very nice to my wife and brought the machine to my garage door like I wanted. The machine was crated perfect and arrived without so much as a scratch. The laser works as advertised. There are two caveats though. We can’t fully use our laser yet because the enclosure which is advertised as part of the package is on back order. They don’t tell you that. They let you wait and wait and wait and when it fails to arrive they tell you it’s two months out due to demand. Great machine! It took a little bit to get the laser aligned with the first mirror. We ended up needing to move the mirror lower which was a simple enough job. I measured the dimensions of the hole on the mirror housing and 3D printed a small "bullseye" that fit just snug to help with alignment. Beautiful. After I got over the learning curve nothing but fun. The laser alignment was fine when it arrived. I messed up the alignment "discovering" the machine. The owner's manual suggested I check alignment upon arrival as part of the setup steps. After watching Rich, the Hobby Guy on Youtube I was a little more comfortable aligning the laser. The Monport 40w laser is amazing! I was a bit intimated at first because I didn't have any experience with a 40w laser. I've been super impressed... It was easy to setup and I was cutting things out of the box in about 30 min. It comes with everything you need, even a water pump. I used a Cheezy Puff container for a water tank and some distilled water. I've been cutting 3mm thick cardboard and have only needed about 20% power. Engraving is easy as well. I received the laser and it was packed very well. No damage and setup in light burn was a breeze. I am new at this but have watched a LOT of you tube and read forums like “ Louisiana hobby guy”.
