The railing was pretty easy to put up once I got started. I did purchase a 1/8" cobalt drill bit to drill the holes in the posts for the brackets. They have "parts" kits in the hand rails and posts. Almost everything you will need to install the railing. Our railing came in numerous boxes over a period of a week. The carrier tore open 2 of the boxes and lost parts. For adult foster home requirements, we needed to install handrails on both sides of two sets of stairs (4 rails total) on our front porch. I found CR Handrails online and they were perfect. Well it was not a good experience. I ordered 3 5 step handrails for the stairs t5o the entrance to the Amvets Post 12 in Pensacola FL. of which I am a member. They do not match in style, I had to call several times to get the missing parts. I never did get the hardware package for the last one. We have three six step stairways on our patios and live in a small town with no ironworks. Closest ones are over an hour away. When I called one of them for a quote I was told that they charge $60 per foot….. So we ordered one set to see if it would work. 1). I did not install the brackets correctly to install the top and bottom rail. Drove the screws in with too much torque, could not back out the screws. This company sent me new parts in two days. Unbelievable customer service! 2) Seriously, lay out the entire assembly with all parts connected prior to even attempting laying out your bolt pattern. Hand tighten fasteners only, do not go any further than hand tightening, then use masking or electrical tape to further keep it together. 3...

These kits are great ! I’ve been looking for years for something like this. As you can see, my steps are stone & non standard dimensions, but the railing fit perfectly. I had ordered the “return” kit to attach the step railing to the porch - it worked well also. I did cut the top rail shorter so the return fit below the porch window. You should know that the hardware provided in the “return” kit is mis-matched, the self-tapping screws have 4 mm hex heads, but the others have 3 mm hex, no driver ...
