This is the ideal solution to creating a fire even in the rain. Follow the instructions, smoosh the pads plenty, light them up against dry tinder or dry wood, and you're in business! I bought multiple packs because I didn't want to create a homemade solution. I also don't want to put myself in a situation where it'll be hard to build a fire in a dire situation. You can spend time building a fire when there's no emergency, but you want something quick if there is.

I was a little skeptical at first but I must say that these things are amazing. They're so lightweight you can throw them in a couple different spots in your bag and forget they're there but boy do they work exactly as advertised won't use anything else from here on out thanks Black Beard!

Efficient and effective. Goes much further than they indicate if you’re a good fire builder. Only takes a little. Do I need this stuff? No. But I can’t think of any reason not to use it. It’s that quick and easy.

Great kit for the go bag and will be very useful. Only complaint is that the case is a bit too small IMO. Slightly bigger would not sacrifice much space in the pack but would be much better getting everything to fit.

Great price and very easy to use. The many tutorials really helped make things easy to learn how to use. The ferro rod throws sparks a mile away and the striker works in both directions, which is good for the draw method.

I only needed one of these little firestarters to get my solo stove going at the campsite! It doesn't stink like some others, thankfully, and fits in tiny spaces. Putting these in multiple kits to make sure they are always around. Getcha some! They're great!

I must say I was anxious at first but your quality is spot on the only thing that I was a bit disappointed with was the size of the pouch which I now have a couple of if but it was a little bit bigger I might be more interested, doesn’t seem to fit very good having a hard time getting it to zip up. I ordered 1 piece of black beard fire started, to check it out before buying any more. When my package came. I, not so brightly, decided that my kitchen table would be a good place to test in a "controlled environment". I shaved off a very small piece, and shredded it as best I could. Excellent ferro rod. The material sparks well and the striker it comes with is more effective than most strikers I've used (although no striker will outperform the spine of a good bushcraft knife).

The kit was reasonably priced, easy to order and the shipping was fast. The case is perfect for it. I’m in Texas and it’s 100 degrees now, so no need for a fire. Pouring down rain ,In the rain forest of the Pacific Northwest with 30 mph winds, one strike on the ferrocerium rod and I had flame! Then not long after a roaring camp fire 🔥. This thing is going to last forever! I bought 3 sticks. I've lit my wood grill, and 2 fires so far, and I've only trimmed a few fibers from it. It ignites with my flint n steel, makes a good catch for the sparks.

Super nice, convenient kit! I’ve never used a ferro rod before. It was super simple; just scrape the black off the rod, and slide the tool down the rod at 45 degrees, with force. I haven’t gotten it to light the rope material yet, despite several tries. It’s my first time; I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. I landed a few big sparks on it too. Regardless, I am happy with the product. I’ll have to try the plugs eventually too. And probably get the arc lighter 😅. Lol

I have had the black beard fire sticks for a few years,also a ferro rod that I ordered from Amazon. When I seen a ad for the fire plugs I had to try them,ordered from Amazon again,2 packs of them. Then I seen the coffers and I had to have a few plus a new organizer as I have worn the one I had out. I love all the Black Beard products ,they are the best. Sorry no pics for now I will send some soon. I use the products when I need them and not so much for show and tell. Thanks !!!!

i like the compactness of the tin. the fire plugs work perfectly with out failure. I dropped a part of one in the snow unlit. i put it where i wanted it and used one match to light both half's of the fire plug. They did their job perfectly.

Tried out the fire plugs and arc lighter while on a jet boat fishing/camping trip in Alaska. Also had the ferry rod but didn’t need it. A single fire plug on top of some dead spruce and fires started and stayed lit every time we needed it. Thank you for a great product. I’m now keeping this fire starter set in my kit for moose hunting later this year
