Works exactly like they advertised. I definitely put one in water while I lit a dry one which burned for 8 minutes. Then I opened the one that sat in water and it burned as they showed, just peel it open and it lit.

I figured this starter was nothing more than another over the top lighter. WELL, was I ever shocked to find you can recharge it, use it in wet conditions, annd it actually does as advertised.
What a fantastic purchase. My plan now is to purchase (2) more, one for my motor home, and another for my shop. I exclusively use my current one for Boy Scouts.

I was just going to throw these matches in a car kit. I decided I should probably at least look at them. I was impressed with the container, small and sturdy. Then I opened it up. The matches were strong and covered with a waxy coating. It also included striking surfaces. After seeing them, I made sure to add one to each car kit! Oh, and I tried them out. They worked as advertised. Great product.

I purchased Black Beard Fire Starters….. the capsule is well designed, strong and the cap seals with an “o ring”…..the “storm proof” matches look exactly as advertised! On the outside of the capsule, there are two “strike plates”, one under the other….. while I haven’t had a chance to use the matches, I see no reason to expect failure….. in my opinion, the entire package looks to be top quality which gives me every reason to expect success when I do get to use them!

Black Beard has a great product! I use for starting fires when camping and lighting up my burn barrels. It’s a good thing to have around for power outages and or whatever else life throws at us. Better to be prepared than not to be ready. Very good product with fast shipping.

I'm a more hands-on person & would have preferred a hands-on book. It's easier to share with my outdoorsman brother (who loves your firestarter cord). Kinda hard to flip pages by firelight with a smartphone. But the book has some vital survival information which is good.

This is really a good company...not my first purchase. I bought the pirates kit and it works like a charm...really good tinder and easy to light with the incuded chargeable lighter or ferrel rod. So, I decided to order the fire plugs so I can put them in anything including my medic kit, backpacks, and vehicles....I have only lit one and it works as advertised and burns for a long time if you follow the instructions on the videos...I can recommend these products to anyone.

I ordered the Pirates plunder kit and all I have to say is I am impressed. I live in Florida so a cool night is low 90’s but I sure had a fire the day I got my kit. I put it through all the test examples they showed and it did not disappoint. This is an Awesome item for a bug out bag, but also to have around the house for easy way to start a fire. This lighter worked just as it was designed to work. I was cutting wood in below zero temps and used the electric lighter with the one of the fire starter plugs and I had a blaze in a matter of a few minutes.

Good fire starter. The way i use them they burn with a good flame for about 4 1/2 minutes and are out at 5 minutes. May burn longer in other conditions. I am happy with them.

I used it a couple of times started a fire in my backyard fire pit big enough to put a pallet in. It worked really great. Was it difficult for me a little bit to push down with a blade because my arm was really really sore. However, I did get it to work. I thought it was amazing. Thank you for making such a great product.

I tried the arc lighter and it works as advertised. Then I tested the rope with the fire steel and it took me under a minute to get a nice fire going with small kindling that would have never been able to catch a spark on its own. I like that the kit comes with 2 ignition sources, a nice pouch that adds to a modular kit and a tinder that’s pretty much fool proof. Made in the USA completes this nice package. I recommend!
