The case is water-proof and sturdy, and serves as a catalyst for the striking paper used to ignite the matches. The matches are lengthy, and I don't doubt they'll burn for a good bit of time. I've yet to light any, but I'm confident in their craftsmanship.

It was a heavy dew covering everything. No dry kindling anywhere. This lit up so easy, and burned long enough to dry out small and medium tinder. The fire got started so easy. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Haven't used them yet except to try them out....I am extremely impressed at how the work and stay lit even after I threw water on and dipped them in water. I keep them in my prep bag!

The Blackbeard Products are fantastic. I have been an outdoorsman all of my life and have not found any products that even come close. I will not go into the outdoors without them. My emergency packs are stocked well with each of the Blackbeard products.

Used one of the fire starters for first time today and works like they said, gave it a couple twists, pulled it apart and lit it up. Don't know how long it stayed Lit because the other material lit up also very quickly.

I ordered this kit for my upcoming hunting trip to Alaska . One day more so than others was cold and rainy . We put a temp shelter up with of trekking poles and tarp . I was able to start a fire under the tarp to knock some of the chill off . I love my kit and have recommended it to all my outdoor enthusiastic friends ! On a scale of 1-10 it’s off the charts at 100 !

Look...the FIRST thing I do with new gear for my Go-Bag is see if I can replicate the stuff they do in the ads and videos. MOST products disappoint. NOT BLACKBEARD. I was not sure about the Blackbeard matches. However, they do work, stay lit even with high winds and water test. Though, they do go out when submerged. However, they do light up again a few seconds after getting out of the water and the air hits them. Very impressive! Highly recommend.

I would not have thought of a lighter like this, one of my friends on a backpacking trips this last year had one and I thought to myself I need one of those for next year. Well for Christmas I bought one and I love it, it is a simple way to start a fire with a arch. I also like how light it is and very backpack gear appropriate.

I have the worst time getting a fire to stay lite. This stuff is great. Just a tiny piece is all thats needed. Lites fast too. No holding a lighter till your thumb gets burned. I used it for the first time today to light the burn pile. There was even a light sprinkle of rain but not a problem for this stuff.

Perfect...and the blackbeard booty bag for storage. I placed fireplugs in a smaller container... a 3D printed snus pouch can thats sealed in my firestarter-possibles belt pouch when I'm out in the field. The plasma lighter is perfect for emergency last ditched effort to start a fire. Thanks Blackbeard...good investment

Bought as a Christmas present and my wife couldn't wait to try everything. Impressed with the ferro rod: good spark shower minimal effort started relatively damp tinder. The fire sticks caught QUICK and remained burning for quite a while with only a small cutting. The arc lighter caught almost everything it touched.

I really like the shape of these, it makes them super easy to lash wherever I want them. I cut one down so that I can lay it in the bottom of my cargo pocket. It's easy to light and burns for a long time. I haven't used to when it's raining or snowing but I see no reason why it's performance would be deminished. I recommend these in your pack, edc and anywhere else you need them.

I'm really impressed with the ferrous rods. They are long, thick, and very effective. Easily 10x the size and effectiveness of every other ferrous rod that I've used. Maybe I'm just out of touch, but these are worth every penny.

I think it is so cool.... I was demonstrating the device to my son in laws and son. I asked if they would like something like that for Christmas and seemed to think it would be very useful. I don't how long it will last, but it charges right up. Kind of reminds me of electrodes on a spark plug.... very in genius. It is pricey, but I am thinking of placing one in each of my vehicles or back packs for emergency use.
