Excellent product. Easy to light and burn time is very good. Had no trouble at all lighting with lighters, spark from empty zippo and bic lighters, or spark rod. Excellent addition to bugout bag or camping equipment.

One strike of the ferro rod lights these starters up. Add in a bit of the fire starter rope, and properly prepped shavings and kindling…bam!!! Easily started fire every single time.

I bought these firestarters as part of my emergency kit. Whether starting a fire in the fireplace on a frigid day when the power is out or out camping. I wanting something that could speed up the process and assure better odds of success. These little fibers packed tightly in small plugs do just that. My friends and I go off into the woods to some rental place every Labor Day weekend and it always seems to rain before or while we're there. Maybe not for the whole trip but long enough to soak the fire wood the rental host left. Now I no longer have to worry about it raining with these bad boys. I used a ferro rod for ignition. Worked great right out of the bag! I have a non airtight container in my kit to store the plugs. After storing for a month, they still work great! We'll see if they hold up for extended storage. I keep 10 or so in my kit.

This product is the bees knees! The rope is quite easy to separate once cut and can be easily frayed apart. One good strike or two from the starter and it catches and burns quite well. I'd recommend this kit to be kept on your bug out bag, camping kit, or even in your car. Who knows when you'll need it.
