Looked at other options, but the HK Hidden winch mount looked to be the highest quality and didn't compromise approach angle. Picked it up in person since I'm local and the guys were helpful and friendly. Installing the mount took some time (I'm picky), but was not difficult at all. Arrived a little tweaked from shipping, but nothing terrible. Welds look awesome, and the carrier itself is STOUT. I currently have a 295/70R17 mounted on it, and it has no issue holding it. I’m 220lbs, and able to use it climb on and stand when putting my RTT up or packing it down. I love this winch mount! It was well packed when delivered. The fit and finish and welds look very good. Install was simple, i rushed through it as i was leaving for the UP the next day, so my bumper cuts could have been cleaner. I like the tie in points to the frame. By far, one of the most empowering modifications I've done to my WJ. The ability to mount a 10 - 12k winch while retaining the light and tasteful stock bumper is a game-changer. Bash is really a godsend with the shackle tab kit. After seeing a high centered Jeep get dragged off of a high center because it only had hooks, I wanted to be sure I was prepared. I already paid for a bumper and didn’t want to pay again just to add shackles, so this fit the bill. All things considered, the install was not as challenging as I anticipated it being. The directions on the HK website more or less cover it all. When mounting the hidden winch via sandwich plates in the frame rails, you will have to drill out the farthest back bolt for mounting, which is something I did not find to be as clear/in order in the instructions. Fantastic winch mount ! You will not find one built better. Yes you will wait 60 days for manufacturing and delivery but it is well worth it. Also for my winch I just removed 1/2 of the vent circled in red which gives me access to the clutch lever and the plug in cover. When my alignment shop put my GX up on the rack the shop owner called over his 3 other mechanics and said - “now that is a hidden winch mount, look at the welds, plate thickness, and support points.
