I purchased these boots as a Christmas gift for my husband on November 26th, anticipating plenty of time for delivery. However, a week later, I was informed by the company that the boots contained materials prohibited in California and could not be shipped here. This information was not disclosed at the time of purchase.
The company offered to ship to another location or provide store credit, but not a full refund, which I found unacceptable. I had to inform my husband about the issue, but fortunately, he has a friend outside of California who could receive the package.
After an unacceptable delay, the boots were finally shipped. My friend promptly forwarded them to me, but I had to bear the cost of expedited shipping to ensure they arrived in time for Christmas. Unfortunately, they still did not arrive on time, forcing me to purchase a last-minute replacement gift.
Lucent should clearly warn customers about potential state regulations before purchase and offer a full refund option. Despite my early purchase, I incurred extra expenses and significant inconvenience. This poor customer service experience has severely diminished my confidence in purchasing from Lucent again. While the boots may be of high quality, the company's handling of this situation was unacceptable.
