Review of my experience with Wine by Lamborghini
Summary: Buy at your own riskThe product itself has very nice packaging. The company seemingly makes a point to deliver your purchase quickly, but due to absolutely zero notice, you have no idea when that will be. They attempt to achieve a quick delivery by using local couriers which is what caused my poor experience. Customer Support response was poor quality, and there is no phone number to call.Result: I would not order from them again. I would not recommend it. The idea and packing is cool, but not worth the potential hassle and honestly - wasn't worth the cost.
Story:My experience is based on the ongoing and unprofessional communication of the delivery of this expensive merchandise along with inadequate customer service from the company.
I ordered for the first time thinking this would make a great gift. I ordered on Dec 24 (Christmas Eve) - anticipating maybe it would take 2 weeks to deliver - When ordering you do not get to select the delivery date. I got an option to get updates on my delivery which I opted in. Other companies typically send a standard text message or email detailing when the delivery will be attempted or where it is in the process of being delivered. This was NOT the case.
On Friday, Dec 27, I got a text message from an email address. To anyone who knows about phishing, you would think this was a fake text. It came from a random email and stated "Hello, we have delivery when you are home. Please write to me. I do not understand English very well. Sorry." I only responded because they sent a picture of my delivery receipt stating from Wine by Lamborghini. Please note that I put my own number under the recipient for this very reason so my recipient doesn't have to deal with this sort of thing in general. Additionally, the address I put for delivery was a business.
I replied informing them that the business was closed for the Holidays and asked if they could please deliver it on Monday when the business is open. They replied "does it need to be delivered not to home? but to work? ok no problem, have a nice weekend"
Monday comes around and I do not get any notification that a delivery was completed. I get another text message from a phone number this time at 4PM stating "Good afternoon. I have a delivery for you, alcohol. Tell me what time you will be in the office?"
I'm frustrated that they are reaching out so late in the afternoon, but I reply to please deliver the next day (Tuesday) by 10am. The response "ok. please clarify the address". I find it unprofessional that they even had to ask when the address is on the package. My frustration led me to contacting Wine by Lamborghini customer service via email (the only way). I informed of the unprofessional manner of this delivery and even if these are local couriers, the company is ultimately responsible as the management and it reflects poorly on their company. They asked for screenshots of the conversation. (I decided to wait to send the screenshots until the package was delivered)
The next day, (Tuesday), I text the same number back just before noon. I figured I'd give them a little wiggle room on the delivery window of 10am. I get zero response. Due to no response, I sent an email (1pm) to Wine by Lamborghini customer service and informed them again of no delivery even though they were instructed to deliver it by 10am. I got no response, but I gave grace since it was Dec 31, NYE. I sent a second email (3pm) with screenshots of all the conversations as they asked. 11 minutes later - they respond to that email saying thank you and they appreciate the information. So customer service just ignored my original email informing that my order was not delivered as discussed with the couriers. I replied back to the email asking again for a status on my order. No response. At this point, I had zero confidence my order was going to actually be delivered.
Jan 2, 10AM, I sent another email asking for an update. By the afternoon, I had no response so I decided to start a dispute with my credit card company, again due to my lack of confidence. - However, I finally got a response at 530PM from the customer service stating they are sorry for the confusion and don't know what caused the issue - they will keep me updated. I assume at this point there was definitely no delivery yet, however, around 7PM, my recipient calls me to thank me.
Jan 3, 4:45PM, I got an email from Wine by Lamborghini customer service stating they "confirm the order was delivered earlier this week! However, we noticed a chargeback for the order from your bank. Please let me know if you may complete the pending invoice or should reach [recipient name] to collect the balance?". I found this response to be inconsiderate and completely disregarding the bigger issue. Seriously, going after the recipient to collect the money - that is terrible customer service! Do they not know they are in the gift-giving business? (Please note, I had already called my bank to reverse the dispute and have reached out to them multiple times to confirm in which they have not responded)
This experience could have been satisfactory if only the delivery communication were more transparent and reliable in its communication with customers. This experience came and continues to be an extreme disappointment as this was my first time ordering. I sent a response to them with documentation of my experience, but I have not received a response (to no surprise). Given their poor customer service and unreliable delivery, I wouldn't trust my money with them.
