I did months of research before picking this company. I wanted to buy one tank for my snake that would last forever. My philosophy was “buy once, cry once” meaning I’d spend the money if I know it will last. BlackBox is the best value in the long run and the best designed. Other companies have cord slots in the back, where these have exactly the right size cutouts exactly where they should be. The RHPs they sell are the best available and have a lifetime warranty. At the time of purchase the website stated that the castor dolly was 24 inches wide. When I received it I determined that it is actually only 23.5 inches wide and will not work for me without screwing a larger plywood board on top of it (which is an extra cost). It is not safe for me to use it without modifying it like this. The castor locks also move very easily even when locked in place. Very disappointed as I had high hopes for this.

UVB guard is too expensive and I think they do that on purpose because they know the Arcadia one is impossible to find so they dominate the market for something that’s a necessity if you have snakes and want uvb. Way to profit off other peoples need to ensure their pets safety.

From ordering to setup, everything was a great experience. I was amazed at the care taken with the packaging. Since I got the XT5’s, they came assembled and freighted on a pallet. Each cage was protected by scrap pvc, wrapped and secured. Not a single scratch on the cages! Blackbox cages look so good with the heat panel and LEDS on the inside. Great products, great company!
