It works just fine. Does what the ad said. But, now that I have it, I'm questioning when/where I'll use it. I did seal fresh washed strawberries in a mason jar, sealed it and stuck them in the fridge 5 days ago. They still look fresh so that's a plus. Ok I’m going to add to this review - it’s now 10 days since I refrigerated these fresh strawberries and this is the photo TODAY! They’re as fresh as day 1. That never happens with strawberries in the fridge.

The Mason Genie WORKS! I've repackaged & sealed new supplies of flour & sugar, cornmeal, nuts and other dry goods. I've used it on wide-mouth and regular lids and am quite impressed! Very cool gadget! No bugs or uninvited critters will be spoiling my foodstuffs! I also think with air being removed from my storing jars, the items will likely last longer.

So far I’ve been very happy with the Mason Genie! Our strawberries are still fresh after 5 days. No softening. No mold. We plan store all dry goods in them. I can’t wait until pickle season to see if my canning salt still soft. I had to break it up to put it in the jars. I had one jar that would t seal. I tried multiple lids.
