A very tasty 2024 tea that was a joy to sip. Dry notes were fresh and grassy with a hint of roasted plantain. When wet, some of sweetness disappeared and more of the fresh grassiness was in the forefront.
The liquor is bright and clear with some wonderful, light grassy notes and hints of a sweet aftertaste. Overall, an excellent tea and one I will continue to enjoy sipping!

This is my favorite tea by far. It's very easy to drink and so refreshing that I often refill my kyusu several times a day with fresh leaves. Flavor is great even after 3-4 fills per batch. Can't recommend more!

Miyazaki Sabou is a light and floral oolong, definitely on the greener side of the spectrum. The instructions tell you to brew it the Japanese way, one longer infusion, followed by two shorter ones but at higher temperatures (90°C) so you can extract its floral notes. The warmed up dry leaves smelled more green than floral and my first infusion was also rather vegetal with some floral hints. Perhaps I didn't get my temperatures quite right. I must try again to see if the flavours appear differen...

I'm normally a big consumer of Sakamoto Kukicha for my health, and due to a lack of stock, the guys from Team Nio sent me two packages of Chanoka Kukicha and two of Osada Kukicha. Osada is too sour for me, but the big surprise is the sweetness of Chanoka. While they don't have Sakamoto Kukicha in stock, I'll continue to drink Chanoka.
