The Dewalt Sliding Bevel Miter Saw upgrade performed as advertised. It was easy to install. After collecting the improved saw to the dust collection system, the dust was reduced by 95% or more. Previously, I made multiple unsuccessful attempts to connect to the Dewalt dust extraction tube. I had to place temporary panels on each side of the saw to try to contain the dust. Installed onto a DW718-XE. Instructions didn’t cover this model and so were missing one additional step. The old dust chute is installed in two parts and so requires a cover at the back of the saw body to be removed to gain access to the additional screw which when removed can be left off, along with the second part of the dust chute. Does it pick up EVERY....SINGLE....PARTICLE of dust? No...of course, not. That product doesn't exist. But, the comparison between the insulting, literally-useless, piece of crap DeWalt put on this, otherwise, very capable saw, is incalculable. Here are some photos of the dust the after making about 50 or more cuts at 90 and 45 degrees. Prior to adding the SN dust port you could hardily read the scales on the miter saw after making even a few cuts. I am building a new shop and have my miter saw on a temporary mobile cart. I put off purchasing one of these for my DeWalt 780 saws and that's my biggest regret, that I didn't buy one sooner. The upgraded dust collection chute is a game changer. The reduction in dust is night and day. I added it to my saw after I built my miter saw station and was absolutely thrilled right out of the gate. I had a narrow plywood box around my chopsaw without dust collection. All it did was funnel dust into my face. With the kit supplied connector I was able to attach a 2 inch (hose ) oneida dust collection and a Sears Craftsman 6 hp 9 gallon by friction fit.
