My oldest daughter is pregnant with our first grandchild. I went to give them to her and she said oh no Mom no RPDR R obstetrician said absolutely no to the Mimi belt. She said that they weren't proven to be a effective or safe I didn't know. I didn't knowthat they came from Australia either so I really wanted to return them, but I've heard that such a hard task to do.

Dont reccomend to others, the strap is constantly getting loose requiring to access the pull side from behind the seat to tighten properly. Ontop of that, the seatbelt doesnt stay seated in the part meant to hold it. The product has no way of retaining the seatbelt in place, it just slides out and returns to its normal placement with any movement.

This belt modification is dangerous, it is not one size fits all and the modification doesn’t place the belt in a safe position. The belt is no longer securing the pelvis and this can cause fatal injuries. Although the femur is usually very strong the belt position in a high impact crash is loose enough because of the hook placement making room to slide forward that I believe can cause a femur to break and potentially sever the femoral artery. I haven’t tried the belt yet. But I wanted to leave a review of the service provided. First off it took 6 weeks to arrive! That is way too long, especially since people buy these for use during a 9 month window. Secondly, customer services clearly didn’t know where the parcel was when I was asking for an update. First off it was at customs in the US, then it was at customs in the UK, then it hadn’t even left china. Had I known all this I wouldn’t have bought from Mimibelt.

Mimibelt would not issue a refund, instead they only offered to try sending a replacement, but by that time the pregnant gift recipient was about to deliver the baby so this was too late.
