I told my wife that i could install these locking tuners in ten minutes. Forgot i had to install my TI strings too, so i had to buy her dinner out as including cleanup, took a little less than a half an hour. The instructions wer superb and installation was easy peezie. Swapping the hex buttons for these small butter bean style ones was easy - now my thinline Chapman ML3 has vintage style tuning buttons to compliment the vintage vibes of the ice blue metallic finish, and Seymour Duncan antiquity II bridge pickup. It looks and sounds perfect for what I play now.

HIGHLY recommend the Hipshot. I purchased a BT12 for my Fender American STD J-Bass. It is SUPER easy to install, look original and works flawlessly. Once dialed in, you can from E, D, to C and back and it stays in tune! So for those of you who need those low notes only occasionally and do not want to move to a 5 or 6 string bass, get a Hipshot. You won't regret it.

I installed the BT7 on an inexpensive Bently bass before trying to upgrade my other more expensive basses. Not an an exact fit, I had to drill 1 hole for the mounting screws to line up. Total success! Tuning the Xtender was simple, and I put a set of Billy Sheehan Rotosounds on for the thicker E string. Sounds awesome! Having that low D is a gamechanger. If you've been thinking about this, do it! A total home run, five stars!

I have had two other Ricks in my life, this is the third, like most people who like them I put up with shit intonation for a long time, the standard bridge is total garbage and I don't know anyone who actually use's the mutes! Ok fitting it, removed old bridge and de soldered the earth wire, the original Ricky bridge screw threads are 1.5cm and the new Hipshot ones are 2cm so re-drill the pilot holes an extra half cm! wasn't expecting that but never mind, sanded the finish on the base to solder...

Great item. I have an explorer so I had to run one of the mounting plates against a belt sander for a few seconds so they would fit. Would be nice to have a slightly shorter size to accommodate guitars that have tuning pegs a little closer together

I got the Xtender with the Doublestop pre-installed for my MIM P bass. The instructions looked a little confusing, but once I had the device in hand everything was clear. A perfect fit, installed in 5 minutes and only needed a screwdriver. Getting stable tuning was easy after I applied some Big Bends Nut Sauce.

I Have hipshots on all my basses and past ones also. The double stop takes a little while to get used to. I mean tuning both stops. It comes with instructions but a video would be greatly appreciated. otherwise great like the standard one.

I was in the market for a high mass brass bridge/tailpiece combo for my Peaveylembic project, but everything was either cheap Chinese pot metal or TOM. Then I found this.
