I build premium grade professional guitars (Turbocaster Electric Guitars on Facebook), and would not EVER use any other tuners than Hipshot locking. I also use them on all my personal, working guitars as well. Aside from them being super high quality, the open gear tuners are COOL!! Also, the Universal Mounting Plate system (no screws) leaves no holes in the peghead, so on the rare occasion that someone would like to replace them some day, there are no holes to have to fill and attempt to hid...

Fits a Greco Thunderbird. Hipshot send two different screw sizes and recommend using one instead of the Greco bolts. No other modifications were needed and looks great. Hipshot are the best.

Excellent product. Near drop in replacement on a Spector NS Dimension 4. Required about 5 minutes total with a half round file to enlarge three of the holes on the front side of the headstock that were just a fraction too small. Everything else went great. The tuning stability and weight saved are definitely worth it.

Bought a Marcus Miller short-scale bass from Sire with a bit of neck dive. New Ultralite tuners from Hip-Shot solved the neck dive. I picked the black finish looks for a clean look.

Hipshot makes a highly functional machine head that is beautiful. The finish on my Epiphone had leaked into the tuner peg holes during manufacturing, so the Hipshots didn't slip right in. I called Oscar at customer support and he helped me problem solve. I used a small file to remove the excess finish that dripped into the hole, and voila! success:-) I used the guitar at a gig and the Hipshot stands up as a superior product. Great replacement bridge. I echo all the other positive reviews but have a different solution to the earth wire connection. This wire is soldered to the curved metal plate that the mute foam is stuck to. Simply unscrew this plate from the original bridge and place it foam side down into the rout already there for the mute assembly. Replaced the stock Washburn high-mass bridge and it fixed a few issues. First, I was able to remove the shim in the neck since I was able to better adjust the action lower. Second, it moved the weight further back and give the bass a little less neck dive (and issue with the MB4 bass); with the ultralight tuners, it really resolved the neck dive. Subjectively, I think it adds a bit more zing when playing more aggressively. Very happy.

Repainted and upgraded a cheaper Squire including a Hipshot kickass and I love it. Well made, attractive and thoughtful design. No modification needed on this bass. They even included a few shorter springs and screws in for more intonation adjustment. I use hipshot tuners, string through bridges, kick ass bridges and D-Tuners just about every bass I mod and they’re all great.

The Hipshot HB6 LIC tuners are marvelous. Nice tight gears with a great turn ratio that prevents easily overshooting tune adjustments. Plus, as with any Hipshot product, you get amazing customer service!

The Hipshot KickAss bridge was an easy replacement for my MIM Jazz bass bridge. Nothing more than a few measurements and selecting the correct replacement. With KickAss bridge in hand, unscrew and remove old bridge, then line up new bridge and screw in bolts in existing holes and job done, you're ready to string your instrument. I use very light strings. And in order to do a proper intonation I had to replace the low E saddle with a shorter length saddle. Fortunately for me, Hipshot has various sized saddles available! Perfect gold tone that perfectly matches the other saddles. I now have achieved perfect intonation without bottoming out the saddle. That glorious gold plated brass work of art, I love ❤️ my Hipshot bridge!

I have an old squire bullet (first guitar) that I wanted to turn into my project guitar. New tuners was the first priority and I’m very satisfied with this choice. FYI I had to drill slightly bigger holes, but they weren’t even slightly challenging to install.

Despite satisfactory performance of the original tuning machines on my ‘10 LP, I had to swap them out. The plastic buttons not only look wrong to me, but are not durable. These replacements were more than easy to install, work great, look way better and made string changes faster while making tuning more stable. Good work Hipshot!

Installed this on a 2006 Jackson SLSMG. The strings rub against the back of the bridge, but it doesn't affect how it plays and I'm a lot happier not having a sharp saddles digging into my hand during palm muting. The extra travel also allows me to intonate the low C without issues on the 25.5in scale. Note it has teflon paint on the surface, so if you use passive electronics, you'll need to sand off a spot on the posts, saddle notches, and inside of the bridge to ensure the ground connects prope...

The Hipshot Kickass 5 is perhaps THE BEST 5-string bridge you can get for the price. Perhaps the only bridge that is “better” is the Hipshot A-style bridge. I love the Kickass 5 bridge so much, I have it on 4 out of 5 basses (the 5th is a G&L, so it comes with an awesome bridge already - no need to replace it…)

I used this on a standard RG7421 that had a flat plate bridge. I had to fill the previous holes and drill new ones to convert it over to the Gibraltar style mounting scheme, but it was well worth it. It's a chunky, solid mass of brass with perfectly machined and smooth surfaces, it's very comfortable. This with the addition of a new nut completely changed the way my guitar feels and sounds.

Super easy install and the template was spot on! With the right tools, woodworking skills, and guitar building skills it was an easy install. The weight and quality of this is exceptional. It's about half the weight of the original and really added little to no weight to the guitar.

The HipShot SuperTone 3 point bridge on my 1978 Ebony Gibson Ripper is a HUGE improvement in playing and tone all around. I tend to use Heavy Gauge Stainless Steel Round Wounds ( .050-.110 ) - With this bridge, I can adjust the action as close to the fingerboard as I want. The Sustain is epic. After taking my 1991 Gibson Thunderbird out of storage, I couldn’t get the E and A string action below 9/64” with neck relief at 0.012”. The bass side of the 3-point bridge was on the deck. The Hipshot bridge was super easy to install. Adjusting string action and intonation was a breeze. The bass now plays like a dream and sounds great. Awesome product.
