I got this beautiful, rose gold color, for my younger sister who just started college and will be starting an LDS service mission in a matter of months. It is both pretty, and oh so LOUD!! I just want her to be safe and sound no matter where she goes in this great, big world. This item on her key chain will help me breath just a little bit easier. I bought the Birdie for my daughters, granddaughter , and myself for Christmas. I started using mine early and I feel more comfortable when I'm out and about. I like the way it connects to my purse. It is always handy. The sound is not too loud, but I'm sure it would deter an attacker. Easy to set off when you want too, but will not set off by itself.

Even though I do have a gun carry permit, I would prefer to use the Birdie. I have it hooked onto what ever handbag I am using at the time….never leave home without it. I bought one for my daughter and she bought it for her daughters. It is loud and the strobe light is blinding. I think everyone woman and even men should have the Birdie for added protection. I ended up buying 5 of these . I have 2 daughters age 26 and they work evenings sometimes. Makes me feel they are safe. I bought the five pack birdies for Christmas gifts. After they arrived and before wrapping them, I opened each box and pulled out ring that sets off each alarm. I wanted to make sure they worked before giving as a gift. Wow! I wouldn't recommend this for someone with a hearing aid but otherwise yes it would be very helpful if in danger.

I purchased one for my daughter, niece and myself. Haven’t needed to use it yet (thank goodness) but so easy to use if needed. We all practiced outside and that’s important!! It’s loud and bright and I believe it would be very effective if being approached or worse and you need time to scare someone off or just draw attention to your surroundings. Don’t hesitate! I bought six Birdies, one for each woman in my family. I love that they are small enough to comfortably hold in the palm of my hand yet pack a wallop of sound to deter any would-be attackers. I showed it off to my girlfriends at dinner last night and they will each be buying one for themselves and for their daughters too. I’ve had a few times where it went off when I didn’t mean it to. I was moving my keys or trying to get something out of my bag and it shifted in just the right way that it accidentally was set off. Other than that, it’s perfect. Thankfully I haven’t had to use it yet, but even when I feel like an unsafe situation may occur, I have the confidence of knowing at least I have my Birdie. I bought the rose gold colored Birdie. This was a gift for my granddaughter who is in college right now. Both my husband and I tried it out and it’s very easy to pull apart. As described on the website, the sound is loud and lights do start flashing. I’m hoping she never has to use it but I feel good knowing she has it.

I can attest to how well it works. Shopping in Lowe’s, birdie is attached to the outside of my purse. Ready to check out, pick up my purse, needed a gentle tug, when all hell broke loose. Little miss birdie had worked her way through the wire in the cart and she was screaming. I freaked and for a minute couldn’t get it back together! The entire store heard her! I don’t think there is any question that they more than do what they should!
