They very promptly apologized for the problem and offered to send me a new Birdie to replace the defective one. After I chose my replacement color , I quickly received a new Birdie for my daughter. I feel like this is the perfect defense device. It will create space between you and whomever is not welcome in your space. I don’t feel that this will have negative consequences or can cause bodily harm to anybody. The birdie will do what it is intended to do, protect and sound the alarm if there is an unwanted advance.

I love the basic birdies - no chance of disconnects. I've been buying them when on sale and giving them to friends and colleagues, and our 35-ish work place may purchase for everyone. :-) My sister gave me a yellow one last Christmas; it's my favorite color because it's easy to find in my purse or bag. The possible attacker will not be prepared for this noise and light and THAT is why I will carry it with me and feel safer. Not because people don't come running when they hear another alarm go off. You're throwing your attacker a curveball he's not expecting and this will give you time to either get away or profit in some other way from this.
