Customer photo review of Pickering's Gin 1 Litre

Bought 3 bottles of 1L Gin. Very surprised on how well the bubble wrap packaging survived both transit, Edinburgh to London + the flight home. I dont drink much gin. Only experienced tanqueray, bombay, roku, botanist, and gin mare.... Nothing came close to the smoothness of Pickering's Gin.

This gin was bought for a friend who really appreciates a good gin, frequently! Your company deals with an order very efficiently, I have dealt with you, not a great deal, but over a fairly long time, and on the occasions I have it has always been a straightforward and trouble free process. I go back to the first ever production of gin baubles, the computer crashed with the massive influx of orders for those baubles. The following year running towards Christmas just about every other drinks co...

1947 Pickerings is just a fabulous gin. One of my favourites and to get a couple of discounted bottles on World Gin Day was just great. Cheers to the good folks at Pickerings!

Great gin. One of my real favourites. Great service buying direct from Pickerings at Summerhall - good value and incredibly efficient delivery next day. Have bought this 1947 gin multiple times. Love it!

My favorite gin. The flavor of cinnamon gives an outstanding aroma and taste. My preference for drinking is with a splash of a good unflavored tonic and lashings of ice. I will be purchasing more!

They were sent as a gift as my surname is Pickering and I couldn’t spend Christmas in person, so I was there in ‘Spirit’. I apparently make a very good Gin and Tonic!

The most smoothest dry gin you will ever taste, my favourite by far… absolutely divine, just add a slice of lemon and some tonic, you won’t find a better gin, believe me, I’ve tried loads! Perfection!

Beautiful dry gin, you won’t find any other as nice as pickerings gin, I have this with tonic and sometimes a slice of orange as seen here. I won’t buy any other now, this is the best!

I have been a fan of Pickering's Original 1947 gin for many years and bought 2 one litres recently. The taste is exceptional, I love the 'exotic' taste and have experimented with orange, raspberries and strawberries as an accompaniment. They are work wonderfully well. As you can see the bottle is nearly empty. Top up coming soon!!

There are many excellent gins on the market, Pickerings 1947 in the top gin. Great use of botanicals and lightly spiced taste make it unique and stand above all other gins.

Orange top is my favourite gin - love the flavour of the spices but also that they don’t hide the juniper. A great drink for any occasion!

Summerhall was a pop-up at Edinburgh University when my daughter graduated 10 years ago. We celebrated in your distillery downtown and, as I travel from Canada often to visit her in Edinburgh, we have created many memories over your Gin products! So when I need a gift or surprise for her to be delivered to her, you are my go-to people. Always appreciated, enjoyed and shared with love🩵Keep it up🩵

Always love Pickerings gins! Any chance of bringing back the fabulous wax seals? Always made opening a bottle of your gin very special, and the current slightly over-tight cork doesn't really do it. Very much enjoying the contents of the bottle, though.

This has been our favourite “go to gin” for a good few years now, unfortunately I cannot buy it locally, however it is a simple task to order direct and it will arrive within a few days.

I am biasweed towards Pickerings Gin as my father qualified as a vet there in 1925. Did I notice that you had an iteration called "The Dick Vet"/ I would obviously be interested in a few bottles of that. My father Sir John N Ritchie finished up as the Chief Veterinary Officer, and after retiring from that, the Principal and Dean of the Royal Veterinary College in London. Bill Ritchie.

Was gutted when I missed the first re-release but got what I needed the 2nd time. Bought as Christmas presents - I have some for myself as I happen to think it is rather tasty!!!

I love the Queen Anne gin. The flavor was delicious and as I was on the Maiden voyage, it is a special purchase for me. I will enjoy this bottle, and likely more to follow.

Bought this for my friends birthday as we both used to work at the Dick vet at Summerhall . She was delighted with her bottle of gin and said it tasted great .

Scottish Botanicals is a special gin, one of our specials. We thought Pickering was the best but it now has to share space on the shelf with Scottish Botanicals. I recently sent a bottle up to Glasgow as a thank you to friends after staying with them. I also introduced a friend from Edinburgh to SB when he came down stay with us overnight. He went straight home and bought 2 bottles for family and friends for Christmas from your shop. We actually had to hide the bottle from him while he was w...

Pickering is just the best gin! At Christmas, it’s my guilty treat and I’m pretty sure it’ll feature on my New Year wish list! Excellent taste at any time… highly recommend!

This is a wonderful, refreshing gin which really goes well as an aperitif with an unflavoured tonic, tons of ice and a slice of fresh lemon. You don't need an excuse to sip or gently gulp this gin, it is a wonderfully straightforward, honest and lovely example of the gin genre. Buy, buy, buy!

Love the slight kick of spices when drinking this gin, so different from the floral kinds. Absolutely my favourite - perfect for special occasions with special friends, if we can restrain ourselves till then!

As a gin lover and a graduate of the Dick Vet this bottle was a must have. Tastes devine! My only grumble is you don't deliver to Australia and I have to wait for friends or family to bring it over for me!

I love this gin, which not only is a delicious spirit but also reminds me of the Cunard cruises I've been on. I've tried all 4 Queen's gins but the Queen Mary 2 is my favourite... and that goes for the ship, too!

I found Pickerings 1947 gin during lockdown and its been my favourite gin ever since. It's got a great "colonial" taste of cardamon and coriander. I haven't tasted anything better. Buying online is so easy and the shipping is always very quick

Bought for my husbands Christmas as he’s always really difficult to buy for. So it’s a bit quirky. Saying it’s an amazing product but he obviously hasn’t got it or tried it yet. Might taste horrible but hopefully not!

Love your gin, and have been buying it for years. I work in technical theatre, and my wife has persuaded a senior colleague not to buy me champagne for major opening nights. I now get a bottle of Pickerings! I do miss the wax seal you used to put on every bottle. I realise it might not be possible to do this at larger volumes, but the current plastic seals are a bit of a let-down, especially next to your iconic bottles. A new better plastic seal, perhaps?

Taste is such a personal thing but Pickerings Gin is our absolute favourite. My wife and I both love it. It's a really flavourful classic gin best served with a slice of red grapefruit and plain tonic water. It is my go to gin. Service by mail from the distillery shop was first class

One of my favourite gins and it's even better that it's local. (Deserves to be better known than some of its local rivals!) Got it on offer as it is quite expensive -but not compared to other small-batch gins

Pickering's gin is my favourite gin. It's distilled in my home city and I've toured the Summerhall stills and enjoyed the informative commentary and samples provided. Go for the 1L bottle whilst they last. Highly recommended.

I was familiar with the previous Cunard queens gin selection and the newest Queen Anne gin is gorgeous, I had a little taste test session of all 4 when they arrived…. Bliss 😊

Review from the friend to whom I gave the brussel sprout gin to - “As a sprout and neat gin connoisseur, this was so interesting. Not sprout, but a different and mellow flavour which, with tonic, took it to a different level. Excellent with tonic and no ‘sprout side effects’.

It is always a pleasure to receive another shipment of your fabulous gin. This time was no exception. We have been using Pickerings gin since around 2016 and whilst other gins have come and gone Pickerings is still our favourite. We were a little concerned to learn that you are discontinuing the litre bottle. Hopefully we will be able to continue with the 70cl bottle in a similar fashion to the past. Anyway keep up the good work and we will no doubt be ordering more in the near future. Kind Rega...

Lovely gin, one of my favourites. Let down by the bottle, do we really need that heavy bottom. Contents are king, packaging may draw in a first timer but I'm sure less glass , perhaps saving for customer and costs for your business. In short, gin is great, bottle is not.
