The butter keeper is wonderful! But I have a couple questions:
1. I have it on my kitchen counter next to the coffee maker. I wonder how sanitary it is to have the butter there in the closed container per your instructions. I change the water every few days, adding cold water and sometimes a little ice.
2. Should I wash out the keeper periodically? It gets crumbs in it sometimes from the knife I use for spreading butter on toast, (the very best thing in the world, by the way!)
