I love my curate box, my little monthly treat to myself. I'm a relatively new crocheter and I'm just learning to read patterns, I struggle a little with the repeat instructions and figuring out the final number of stitches per round but the customer service is second to non and support is only an email away. With the help of the easy-to-follow pattern and the video for extra support and reassurance, I have just finished my first pair of soft and snuggly crochet gloves. The linen stitch is simple and pretty and the coloured yarn makes the gloves interesting and unique. I did add a little colour to the thumbs as I liked it so much. The pattern is lovely to follow and I am definitely using the seasonal stitch markers that came in this box. I am really looking forward to seeing the finished product. The only problem is that my partner has already said he wants the finished stocking hanging on his side of the bed on Christmas Eve!

I’m having so much fun putting this bag together, it’s the first time I’ve worked through a project so quickly. The yarn is a strange one to work with for the first time, but it’s also nice to work with something that’s quite forgiving as a newbie crocheter-it’s looking great even though my stitch sizes aren’t very consistent. Almost done with the main bag here and then get to start with that gorgeous watermelon yarn for the handles.

Although the pattern is well written and easy to understand, I love the fact that multiple learning styles are covered by having both written and video pattern, as that is how I learn best, by watching and copying.
