This is a very nice flute. The low notes are warm, and the high notes are crisp & clear. I would recommend this flute, and I think it is a high quality flute especially for the price range. The only warning I have is that in G this is quite a large flute. I have large hands so I can play it without too much trouble, but I can imagine a person with smaller hands might have a little bit of trouble.

I splurged on this as my first shinobue. Since I am serious about learning it; a fue I really adore will help encourage me during the long practices. The Fukiurush finish is silky soft and really show off the nature bamboo patterns. The sound it produces is clean and buttery. Can't be happier with the flute. On top of that, the customer service at the Taiko Shop was spectacularly friendly and kind.

The Shakuhachi Yuu - although made of plastic - is a great beginner flute, which sounds lovely as it is. It has shipped really quickly. If you are considering buying your first shakuhachi flute, this is a good starting point, although compared to the wooden flutes from Taiko shop, it has a slightly different feel.
