Gorgeous boots! Love them! They run large. I am a women’s 8 and I bought a size 6 and they feel slightly large. Fine with thicker socks, but may want to consider 2.5 sizes down for women.

Let me just start off by saying I absolutely love these boots! They’re the perfect boot for any occasion really. You can dress them up with your favorite pair of slacks, button down & sport coat. Or you can dress them down with a Tee Shirt & Jeans. It doesn’t really matter because the boots will still be the highlight of your outfit either way!

The leather is so soft right out of the box. I have promoted this specific shoe (Ellington boot) heavily on Indiana Jones costume groups due to it's close similarity to the Alden 405 boot at a fraction of the cost. Plus these are way more comfortable the $500+ Aldens. I know this boot is selling out so hopefully it's an item that the company is smart enough to continually stock. There are always new generations of Indiana Jones costumers.

Great boot for the sale price. It is extremely comfortable. The welt stitching is clean and the outsole I like. The leather is unique, I've never seen another shoe leather like it. It's completely worn looking already which was expected and I like the look but I do have some concerns for the longevity of the leather. It does not feel the strongest. It looks good for now but I don't have high expectations for a 10 year boot by any means, hence saying it was a great boot for the 50% off sale price...

I ordered the Ellington boots from Sutro and found they run true to your brannock sizing, which makes ordering such a breeze when it comes to knowing if it will fit or not.
Out of the box they were a great fit and very comfortable. The leather quickly breaks in and gives it a warm well worn look which I was a big fan of!
I would recommend Sutro for the pricing and quality of the boots they sell.

Love at first sight! Immediately noticed the great quality, the leather SMELL, and the COLOR! The fit is perfect for me and I am a true size 8 with my feet on the narrower side. I love the block heel, pointy toe, the stretch sides which aren't too loose or too tight, and the kind of worn look they have. I love the style of the Battery boot. They are the perfect boot for the fall. I love the color and they are comfortable. I am usually a size 7 but I sized up to 7.5 to have some room to wear socks, tights, etc. So chic!

I always love Sutro products! These boots run true to size as I am always a 7.5 in most brands. I also have the Neptune Mules (which run a half size small) and I’ve just ordered the Mendelle boots for Fall. As a NorCal girl and former San Franciscan I enjoy supporting local brands. I already had a pair of the black Mendelles that I wore nonstop for three months when I got them in the winter (and only stopped because of Shelter in Place orders, and we don't wear shoes in our house), so when these brown ones came up as factory seconds, I didn't hesitate (and can't even see a real flaw, honestly) -- they fit true to size and are already totally comfortable from day 1, and become even more comfortable with time. The laces get shredded, but those are easy to replace. Love these...

The Alder with Vibram sole are an amazing pair of boots. The black leather looks gorgeous and the almost mahogany colored leather sole And heel go perfect together.

I typically buy sub $100 chukkas, but got tired of them wearing out within a year. When these first arrived, they were a little tough to get on without completely loosening the laces. Once they were on, I felt the quality immediately. These boots hugged my feet slightly firm, but not too tight. Because of the high grade of leather, these kicks will break in perfectly and I expect to have them for quite some time. Pay a little more for these puppies, you'll be so glad you did!

There's nothing more satisfying than the smell of well-worked leather. Everything about this shoe is perfect - has that old world cobbler feel, comfortable broken-in leather, excellent color, and pleasing design. I will say I'm glad I sized up a half size. I am typically a 6, but boots like these typically are too snug for me in a 6 (my redwings are the same way). The 6.5 fit just right.

Arrived in Australia quickly, beautiful boots. Sizing advice was spot on, usually a US11.5 but the US11 fits perfectly. Immediately comfortable, looking forward to breaking them in and wearing them out over the next decade.

I usually wear a 9.5 in boots, I ordered the seconds alder in honey in a 9.5 and they were tight with anything but flimsy dress socks. Loved them still and decided to order the alder II in honey as well. Ordered a 10 and I feel like with anything but seconds you can comfortably half size down. But if you go with seconds go half a size up. It’s weird but in my experience that’s what I went through. All in all both boots are quality but I love my Alder II’s more! The color is amazing and I honestly can’t say these look like seconds. i love these shoes!!! They dress up any outfit and can be worn with a ton of looks from jeans and t shirt to a fancy romper! I get tons of compliments on them every time I wear them. My feet have to break them in though. I recommend baby powder the first few times so your feet don't blister. But other then that I love them!!

I'm a flat, 9.5 narrow, which can be hard to fit. After ordering the Ortega (good fit for me, plus extra room on top of the foot, which is normal for my flat feet) and the Clay (sadly, way too wide & a bit too short), these are true to size if you wear a thin sock. They might also stretch a bit. If you like very thick socks or wear insoles, size up a 1/2 size. I've got a very narrow foot and find these to be exactly my toebox width, which means that others may need time to stretch them out a bit...

These could be my favorite Sutros. I usually wear my Charltons to death but these are next level comfortable. So sorry to see them go. Hope you bring them back as I’d like to get another pair in black. They fit perfect and have that soft out of the box fit that I’ve come to expect from Sutro. These boots never disappoint.
