I spent way too much time looking through many, many websites before deciding to buy a pair of boots from Sutro. Turns out, it was a good thing I took so long to make a decision because these boots are perfect. They are beautiful boots and immediately comfortable. The honey color is striking and will, no doubt, look better and better as it ages with wear. The handcrafted skill is apparent and wonderful. I'm so pleased with these boots, I plan on buying a black pair.

What a beautiful pair of boots! At first I wasn’t going to give it 5 stars because they were hard to break in ad they gave me a blister but my mistake was tying them too tight. These boots are not meant to be tied too tightly. Tie them loose for a loose and comfortable fit. The leather stretched just nicely and soft after a few days and now I can’t take them off! They were definitely worth the wait!

I went half size down from my normal shoe size and it was a perfect fit. Quite snug at first but no blisters or anything of the sort. Leather looks old pretty fast, but if you're going for kind of a rugged, worn look for your boots, this is a really good pair. Overall pretty good for the price.

The boots look just like I excepted them to, and they’re fairly comfortable right out of the box. I normally wear an 8, but got an 8.5 because I like to wear heavier socks with boots. However, they’re pretty snug. I’ve only worn them twice so far, and I know leather stretches, but right now I can only fit a thin sock with them. These are BEAUTIFUL boots! I am an 8W in most boots, and the fit guide recommended I order an 8.5 in these to accommodate for my larger width. The sizing is good--definitely a little snug in the toe box (even more snug than the Polk, which surprised me!), but I can tell that these will stretch over time, like my other Sutros have! My expectations were beyond exceeded with these boots. My Alder Vibram's felt broken in and velvet smooth on my first wear. Doesn't hurt that they look beautiful dressed up or down. For this boot quality I'd expect to pay far more.

These boots are beautifully handcrafted. The leather is strong, but not too stiff. They're the kind of shoes you have forever, which is exactly what I'm always looking for. I have very narrow/flat feet and am a true 9.5. I bought the 9.5 and they fit great with a bit of room in the pointy toe. I could wear a slight insert to make them more snug in the width, or thicker socks. Craftsmanship is unrivaled & the finish is well-executed, solid work!

I found my first pair of Sutros at a second-hand shop while traveling. I needed sturdy walking shoes to get by until I could shop for something better... Four years later I'm still wearing them! Best shoes I've ever owned and only now have I bought two new pairs, opting for the Alder II boot and Ralson oxfords. These are top quality, hand-made shoes that are durable and great looking. I typically wear size 10 and ordered a half size larger (as per those originals I found) and they fit perfect....

Buttery soft, no break in. I should have ordered a half-size down. No pull loop on the back makes these frustrating to get on but they're so good it's worth it. Best boots I've bought in years. Vibram sole is perfect (and perfectly grippy) in rain and snow.

The 9.5 feels good with their insoles, but I always remove them in shoes I buy and put my own in. They are a little tight with the ones I have but I figured that. This is actually my fourth pair of Sutro boots. Although these Arthurs were listed as a "Final Sale" item on the Sutro website, they definitely aren't factory seconds. I can't find anything wrong with the materials or construction.
Sizing on most Sutro styles is true-to-size, but the Arthur needs to be sized down as it runs a bit large. The Sutro website offers conflicting guidance, saying both "runs a half size big" and "we recommend ordering a whole size smaller for Arthur". I ended up order...
