Being able to customise the exact length and width for my space was terrific. Ideally I should have included where the steel studs were in the wall (note to others to do this) so the bracket could match up perfectly with the studs. We had to drill new holes in the bracket to line it up (not a problem, but an extra step we could have avoided).

I gave it a quick varnish/clear coat to match as close as possible to vic ash furniture in and around where it was installed and this just further enhanced the grain. I did stain them a very slightly darker colour, almost as if the natural shelf was just wet, as it was more blonde/raw than i was expecting. Very difficult to ascertain true colour from a pic though and since i live in Perth couldn't come and look. It has worked out perfectly though.
