I just connected the NodeMcu ESP8266 V3 Lua CH340 Wi-Fi Development Board to the Arduino IDE. Of course, I had to run the Blink program to try it out. It worked great! I am excited to explore the WiFi capabilities. One observation, the board is large enough that when placed on a breadboard, the ESP8266 board fills all the available openings, leaving none available to connect components (see the photo). I may need to straddle two breadboards side-by-side.

The sheer amount of components was amazing. I have almost all the parts I will ever need for my projects. The fact that it included everything necessary for the completion of all the courses was seriously awesome (shows your determination to provide maximum bang for your buck rather than trying to squeeze the biggest profit possible) and the toolbox is incredibly helpful, much better than if everything was in a cardboard box in plastic bags.

Month 1 kit was perfect. I am loving the course. Unfortunately my soldering statiob in Month 2's kit worked once only for a few minutes. I tested it out and it was all good. It heated up quickly and the solder melted easily. However, I turned it off when someone arrived to visit me. I later turned on the power switch again and nothing. I checked the fuse and found it was still intact and inserted correctly. There was no power surge that might have blown it up. My powerplugs are properly earthed....

When I ordered the Nebula Adventure I inadvertently included the 30 Days in Lost in Space adventure as well. I have already completed 30 Days Lost in Space(which by the way is awesome; version 2 & 3). The folks at Inventr.io corrected my order and shipped the Nebula Adventure within 3 days. I've been recommending it to many teachers and have forwarded it on social media to other school districts. I've bought several copies of this game and sent them to friends and old colleagues to help their children learn coding and basic electronics. I am a bit behind because of work, I am on Month 2. The soldering iron is very cool. The tips are exactly what you need to do this type of work. In my soldering module at University we had to buy a very cheaply made, variable heat soldering iron that burned through everything with the wrong temperature settings for the solder. The equipment and tutorial are very helpful. This skill is absoutley needed. Great course.

The script for learning circuits and coding is very good. Improvements to make: - The size of the screen showing the code is too small and the size of the characters is also too small to read - it should be made larger - The simulation of the circuit and the code is very good. The problem is that there is no indication on how to connect the Hero board to the computer and how to transfer your program to the board.

I haven't done anything with the kit yet except to download and install the Arduino IDE app and place all the parts in a plastic box and mount the CPU and the breadboard in another plastic container. Since this is an entry level kit all the parts were just loose in a bag. But they seem to be of quality. I hope to play with it soon and use it for some projects.
