We have had ongoing issues with our dog barking. She is territorial and very reactive. It’s always been difficult to get her out of her ‘barking episodes’ - sometimes when she had been told to stop it has resulted in her barking and lunging at us. My girl is an ex-services malinois who was nervous and prone to running off. The collar - beep mode only - calmed her by letting her know what I wnated of her. Ina few weeks, she is trained to heel and is much calmer. A good experience. Really impressed with this collar. With appropriate use and combined with training our Vizsla has stopped all unwanted/concerning behaviour in a week. We have only had to use the ‘shock’ 3 times on very low, and now it’s just a safety measure having it on, the shock was very mild and whilst obviously uncomfortable, he was never in pain. Bought this due to my Doberman barking excessively in the garden. She had developed a self rewarding behaviour when she barked at planes and birds and they then flew away. I was so against ecollars!!!!! BUT! when my dog nearly got run over (he was on lead but dragged it out of my hand) I knew I had to take drastic action. I've tried bark collars previously to stop my neurotic collie running up and down the fence lunging and barking at folk on the footpath that runs through our farm, to no avail. Excellent bit of kit Have had collars before but they were nothing like this one. Don't need to use the shock setting . Just the tone and occasional vibration is all that is needed.
