They don't cut into the "love handle" area that so many swimsuits do, but it also doesn't feel unsecure and has a nice shaping effect. The cut is perfect for not having more of a granny panty tan line, but is also family friendly enough (imo!). I am 5'5 and 165, waist 33 and hips 39, with a thicker lower body and I think they fit perfectly.
