Harambe System Reviews

I wanted to wait a couple weeks before writing this review. The Harambe is something I've been fantasizing about buying for a couple years now. I've gone back and forth between this and other systems, but the old adage "buy nice, don't buy twice" rang in my mind. I pulled the trigger on the K bundle with the blue band added on top. Now I've been lifting for over 10 years and have tried many different modalities of training and I am so happy to report that this system is top to bottom excellent....

Keeps my bands fresh and from getting powdery or chalky. All of Harambe Systems products are top notch, and the Harambe Butter is no different. A little goes a long way.

My journey initially began with the X3 bar and the Book: ‘Weight Training is a Waste of Time’ by John Jaquish. I was immediately drawn to the benefits of resistance band training. In addition to the portability and how much time it saves. I love the K-Bundle. The width of the bar is perfect. You can do a full body workout paired with the Harambe App which has improved tremendously over the past few weeks. Now the app stores your equipment info so you don’t have to waste time logging it in during...

Been using it for a couple of weeks now along with the hydraulic power twister. it’s one of the best designed systems l’ve ever used so easy to use. My strength increased dramatically. I watch the exercise videos on YouTube. This is the wisest investment I made for my health. I’m 71 years old and if you saw me you wouldn’t know. Thanks so much, Philip Hodges

The bar is of excellent quality and the extra length is necessary in my opinion for comfortable range of motion. The plate is light but sturdy with zero sharp edges. The bands seem to be very high quality. The amount of movements and constant tension through range of motion make this an awesome piece of kit. If the bands hold up overtime, I will be well pleased with this as an investment. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone with joint injuries, lack of spa...

These 38" Harambe bands make the system complete! I bought the K-bar bundle last fall when only the 41" Serious Steel bands were included. My workouts were "good," but I always looked for more. Even with the spacers, the tension in the 41" bands did not feel right. With the 38" bands, it feels like a whole new system. The tension starts sooner and gets harder. I would recommend these bands to anyone using a bar/plate system who wants to increase the value of their system. and get a better wo...

So far I really like these bands. I use 32" and usually 41" for the press and squat but now I use the 38" and it is so much better!!! The only thing I really wish is that Khaild would sell the bands individually as I would love to have a second set of Orange and White as those are the ones i am using.

I had to downsize significantly and looked at a lot of other options before stumbling on the Harambe System. I like how portable it is and it doesn't rely on digital technology to function, so I can use it anytime, anywhere. I'm still getting used to resistance band-based strength training, but the equipment is high quality and the videos are helpful in figuring out how to use everything. I've had a positive experience overall as well as with customer service and the Facebook community.

I am impressed with the Harambe bag. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into the design of the bag. With the many different compartments, the backpack straps used to easily transport and even a hip belt for better stability this bag allows you to transport the harambe system anywhere with you. The bag houses everything; the bands, cork block, base plate, and even a compartment for the bar with room to spare. Khalid did an awesome job with these bags.

I Love it I can get my workout done anywhere without having to deal with the instagram models at the gym, wait for equipment to be available or occupy half of the garage with equipment and best of all no more joint pain.

Love these bands. 38” are the perfect length for my size on the chest press and deadlift. Plenty of resistance but when I want to go really heavy, the 2 lighter bands are perfect for stacking.

The plate is an excellent piece of equipment to add to your Harambe collection. I have two boards from other band companies and this is by far the best one. Especially compared to the metal one from another company. Thanks for the excellent product!

After spending a chunk of money on an X3 system, I finally discovered what I really wanted in the Harambe products. I have been purchasing Harambe a piece at a time as finances allow. They are all fantastic, but my real surprise was buying a product with “defects”. I had already purchased one K handle and wanted a second. I did not find another available except for one with defects. I really wanted a pair, so I ordered the one with defects. After receiving my order, I compared the two and ...

I am really enjoying this workout plan and I appreciate the Harambe team putting it out there. As for this booklet: Could I have made one myself? Yes. Would I have procrastinated doing so and gone weeks without properly tracking my progress? Without a doubt. Am I glad that I bought this booklet and that I’m using it daily? Absolutely. There is nothing special about this product other than the fact that it makes tracking a little easier and more convenient. That makes it an important tool for “I’...

Amazing footboard. I haven't got money together to buy the K-bar, slings, etc, so right now I'm using the with the standard X3 bar and their new long 28" bar. This one was said to have cosmetic issues, but I didn't find anything unusual. Great innovation in the Harambe Footboard & I highly recommend it no matter what resistant band system you're using.

Could barely notice any defect! Performs flawlessly and the knurl is fantastic. I love these handles. Worth the price at the original price point but an even better deal with the defect discount.

Found the perfect board for my resistance band training! It's the perfect size and the construction is solid. Plenty of clearance for doubling the bands. This should be the standard for all resistance band footplates. It's a little on the slick side and I think it would be awesome if this brand sold grip tape to add for extra secure grip, but that's something I can add. All in all, I am very pleased with this footplate from Harambe Systems.

I purchased the T Bar in a bundle and am thoroughly impressed. The bar has a slightly smaller circumference than a standard barbell, so I wrapped it in tape and ended up creating a more comfortable grip. I am 5'-9" and 150 lbs. and the length of the bar is perfect for me without feeling cramped. Every component in the Harambe System (bar, slings, and footplate) are superior quality and an absolute pleasure to use.

I put off buying this for a long time because I already had a foam yoga block that did the job of protecting my feet during deadlifts, overhead press, etc., propping up the board during bench press and similar moves, and for setting the bar on during rest periods. Recently, I decided I wanted a second block to stack and prop the board up to a higher incline so I can get my shoulders and elbows further back when I’m lying on the board. Perfect excuse to finally grab this specially manufactured bl...

Excellent quality. I really like the quick release of the seat belt buckle as it allows you to drop the belt quick after a set. I did squats followed by calf raises with the white ropes and regular rods and the workout went great!

excellent design for a safer progressive resistance workout. i live alone and not having to worry about plates or bar injury is a nice feature...especially in your living room. nice quality construction and ease between excercises.

Solid plate, major upgrade over x3 original plastic or metal, not substantially different in build quality from FloydReeds plates. Sizing is pretty good (I am only 5’5 so a little wider would be better for starting tension lower, but it is close to perfect,.)) Workable for doubled up deadlifts with band on the bar for both 41 and 32” bands. Very smooth, sometimes on the FloydReed surfboard the bands would stick a little (when doubled for deadlifts), not an issue with this. Smaller channels are a...

Very realistic action, feels like a real barbell. Makes several band exercises more fluid and easier, activating more and different muscle groups. Some exercises become immediately harder because of the added weight of the bar, such as curls and overhead press. It is a bit harder to get into front squat position as well, but that might be a rope issue more than the bar itself. Overall an outstanding next level investment.

I have had an X3 kit for over a year and have enjoyed using it. However, I always felt limited in hand placement with the shorter length of the bar. Having the much wider bar of the Hambre kit has removed those limitations. There is also an added benefit of more pre-tension on the bands, leading to increased effort requirements.

Almost didn't purchase the plate, but the more I thought about it, I was like take my money. I'm glad I went for it. This really does make set up more "natural" feeling and helps you consistently take the best position. It's far heavier built than expected and does exactly what it's advertised to do. My only nit pick is being a taller guy, a few inches extra width would be of benefit as I already use the entire width for exercises like squats. Not at a all a deal breaker, it's just not the width...

I'm having a fantastic experience using this. I'm an intermediate lifter that was out of the gym about a month, so the basic workouts were a fantastic way to get back into lifting and it was only a couple weeks before I was doing the higher volume splits. I enjoy these workouts because I don't have to deal with the hassles of going to the gym, waiting for the machine or rack, and listening to terrible modern music. I am supplementing the workouts with my bare bones apartment complex gym, pullup ...

Having spent a couple of months with the K Bar, I can say that I really love it and I prefer it to the X3 bar. The K Bar has a very comfortable knurling allowing for excellent grip that doesn't feel rough. The weight of the bar makes exercises feel better. The width allows for more grip options and, especially when paired with the Harambe footplate, keeps the bands off of your body. The design and manufacturing seem to be of the highest quality. Highly recommended.

I’ve had the X3Bar for over a year, the harambe system and plate is much better quality and is very superior in design. I was almost immediately able to go up in bands because it is a much more smoother movement using this system. It puts less strain on my joints . I’m very happy with it. I highly recommend it. Let’s just get this out of the way from the outset: no system (including Harambe) is a panacea. Nothing will be a perfect solution for everyone. That said… I’m loving my setup. Everything just oozes quality and attention to detail. You can see how much time, effort and thought has gone into the design and also in ensuring the quality of the build. The feel of the pulleys makes for super smooth lifts. The length of the bands is spot on. The platform feels rock solid (unlike some of the competit...

This plate is smooth as butter and strong as an ox. Used it for the first time and it is my favorite. I will take it on every trip. I have several plates at home that I will continue to use there but I like the new urban camo above the rest.

The T Rods are perfect for the black Serious Steel band and under. What I like is that the bands don't have room to move as much when there's no tension. They are also great for travel especially if you're like me and you use multiple rods and ropes setup in advance.

I was skeptical on buying the cork, but it's worth the investment. Makes setting up the bands easier giving it a platform to sit up off the board. What I like most about it is the feeling that I'm unracking the bar from the bench when doing chest press using the cross channels on the plate. It seems gimmicky, but it's a well thought out product that I use with almost every exercise.

The footplate is excellent! I was using another plate that was nice but rocked a little, especially during back squats. The dimensions of this plate are perfect and the plate is extremely stable and extremely well built.

Looked into bars to use with bands for a while and nothing seemed to compare to the Harambe. I waited for the knurled L bar and it’s as good as I’d hoped.

As a trainer, I have switched predominatly to band training in order to focus heavy loads on the muscle without damaging damaging the joints. Other bars in the industry focus mainly on narrow bars. The problem with that and being a trainer is so many clients have different widths and some can't even fit into the bar in order to do the chest press. Those that can't fit into the bar tend to experience the bands wrapping around the shoulders so tight that it ends up shutting off the muscle which...

I’m loving the books to keep track of workouts. Still looking forward to the eventual app if that’s still in the works. But for now, recording workouts in the book is a refreshing break from smartphone usage. These also take the thought process out of planning for workouts. Please keep these in the store.

Worked out in a gym for 14 years and with other bands for 4 — Harambe is the best of both worlds with all the benefits of bands combined with strong low range force that gets you SORE as only weights used to for me. That, combined with the ability to rock bench and incline in a way that friggen feels like a real bench is fantastic. Excellence is in the details and this is an excellent product.

The Harambe System has exceeded all my expectations. I’ve been going to the gym for 20 years. Yet this single piece of equipment has everything I need. I’d seen others say that but didn’t believe it until I tried it. It’s extremely durable and has more of the feel of free weights than any other home gym I’ve ever tried. The length, size, and sturdiness of the bar and footplate set this product apart.

Bar is a quality item. The band retention system takes a little getting used to, but once figured out is very easy. Definitely makes the workouts better/harder and I would highly recommend.

I’ve had the original X3 footplate and it was good (not the shredder plate) the Floyd Reed plate and it was better and now this one and it’s the best! Two channels allow multiple options and it has the smoothest band action of all. Top notch.
