My recent hobby is making fixed blades .My friend had most of the equipment needed to get me hooked.Then I bought a 1x30 machine, the store bought belts just did not works as well as I expected. I watch YouTube videos of this craft and was now understanding, all belts are not created equal. So I have been using Red Abrasive belts since. 5 stars , service, price and fast shipping. When I got into knife making I tried just about every belt I could find. I decided to try red label abrasives. Even though they are far from cheap, they are worth every penny. The ceramic belts last almost 50% longer than other brands belts at the same price point.

Got a mirror finish within 5 minutes, however i may add the white wheel had a layer rip on me and I just winded up cutting that one piece off i guess dont use that gradder on it! but didnt matter still got the mirror finish!

I very knew a knife making and I have a small grinder, 1”x30”. I made the knives in the picture for a family trip that excluded a mushroom foraging class. My belts get clogged fast with this big a project and such a small grinder. So this really helped clean up all my belts.

I have been using different brands of belt for a few years now. Always have issues with them, then one day I came across another kinfemaker with a sign for Red label and gave them a shot. Best thing I ever did the belts last longer on hardened steel and are reasonably priced. The kit only includes one set of 4” safety flanges. It would be great to include 3 sets so one doesn’t have to change buffing wheels on one station. NP though, I ordered 2 sets from Amazon and good to go now. Buffing wheels work great and cuts down on my sanding time to get a mirror finish on my knife blades.

Had a couple thousand stainless parts that had to be taken from a machined finish to a full mirror polish. The treated airway buff kit works the best out of anything I've tried so far, allowing us to skip 2 belt steps and substantially reduce time spent polishing. Buffing wheels are mounted on a Jet 8amp grinder turning 3450rpm.

After forming the blade with 80 grit this 120 grit refines the edge geometry prior to the final grinding with the 240 grit belt. The persistent sharpness prevents overheating of the blade.

The scalloped belts are a real time saver! The belts make it easy to shape and finish knife handles and they work well for all handle materials. The handles on the two knives pictured were done with Red label scalloped belts.

The 1 inch by 42 inch belts came quickly. The fine grit belt works perfectly to sharpen the expensive kitchen knives (German and French) and the Japanese knives. I will be ordering more in the future.

My little White #1 Steel prep knife came from the manufacture with black crud on the blade. I went through several cheap sanding belts trying to get it off. The process was taking forever and putting too much heat into the metal. After some research I chose Red Label 60 grit ceramic belts. Ceramic is the best abrasive and they offered the best price overall for 1 x 30 ceramic belts. They are sold on Amazon but the selection and price are better on Red Label's website. Coarse grit belts take off metal quickly from broad surfaces, and even after they become less aggressive, they're still aggressive for quite a while for stock removal from billet edges. Excellent product.

I needed a way to flatten out the top plate of an I beam after some welding warped it. While not the ideal tool I was able to use a hand held belt sander with the ceramic 3x21 belts and it certainly removed metal quickly! The belt sander was the wrong tool for the job but I'll certainly be back to buy more sanding belts as they clearly do a great job.

Ceramic sanding belts worked great on M2 HSS tool blanks. It turned a 2 hour job on AO belts into 15 minutes, including two belt changes for finer grits to improve the surface finish. I only wish they made sanding sleeves for drum sanders!

I used the 37x 75 zirconia 100 grit to custom a conveyer belt in my custom drum sander . It looks very sturdy and durable . I hat to trim it down to 26 1/2 because I bought it wide to custom mi size . I'm very happy with it and I will definitely continue in the future to order from Red label . Metal, resin, or wood the belts do great with. Softer material will clog up but an eraser gets them clean again and last quite awhile. Stays uniform while belt is wearing down and progressive grits do great.
