I have now used the 3k 8" topper for a couple of weeks. It works very well, in fact it works better than my 6" full thickness 600, 1200 & 3k laps which tend to not run true, i.e. 'whap-whap-whap'. I haven't tried the 8k or 14k toppers yet, but expect them to work as well as the 3k & AlOx toppers. I think based on my experience to-date (inclduing AlOx 8" topper), I will continue to order D'Lite topper laps, rather than the full thickness version.

Tried it with 200k diamond paste. Worked ok. I'd expect it to work a bit better after a short break-in. The instructions say to be careful using the outer edge ( 11/16" ). I'm thinking more like 1/2" because of swarf build up. ( the doted red line) Clean it like it says in the instructions. Sure beats the price of tin or copper laps, though they do have their uses.

Received this 8" flat lap last week. It was a snap to set up and I tried a few things on it yesterday for the first time. I was shocked! It worked like a dream and was no louder than my sewing machine. Clean up so easy! It wasn't messy to work on - in fact, I decided to use it in my sewing/craft room because it is quiet, lightweight, clean and simple to use. Nice compact slant lap that will work well in a small space for flat and cabochon work. I would recommend adding a few of the sponge pads to back the pre-polish and polishing pads, as well as a 3000 grit diamond disc. The jump from 1200 grit to polish might be a little too far for harder stones.

So, when my templates arrived one of them was damaged. Yes, that was a bit of a pain however, the customer service I received definitely overshadowed the pain of a broken template. It has been a very long time since I have recieved customer service like this. They returned my email within a few hours and recieved a new one in my mailbox 4 days later. I will definitely use them again!

Cuts fantastic. It’s my first of this style. I usually go with the MK303 style but so far I’m really happy with this one. It took a little break in time. The cuts were a little rough to begin with but since it’s been unstoppable. I’m cutting slabs of lace agate and jaspers and other semi precious stone. Normally these discs are fantastic. The #600 that I recently purchased, shipped with a significant gash in the surface, rendering unusable. These discs are not exactly inexpensive, so something received like this really hurts.

I have used the cab wheel.Works' great.I use it for forming cabs',obviously.The main one I use is for shape and I use it with #600 to get fast results' without deep cuts' that have to be polished out later!
