This part of my lawn used to be mostly bent grass with rye, fescue, and kbg sparsely mixed in. Killed off all of the original grass late last August (2022), tilled the old grass into the native (*very* silty) soil, added irrigation, then finally topped it all with about 4 inches of new 3-way topsoil. The seed went down Sept 27, 2022, and was sprouting by October 4, 2022. This is how it looks on Memorial Day 2023. I love it.

For me this seed (tttf) started germinating in 3 days. Within a week of germination, it was at least 2". Had to split my yard so my dog has somewhere to go. Now, I've mowed the green side twice and the other side is almost totally green as well. Probably wait another week before mowing that side for the first time. Haven't seen one weed and looks fantastic. I would highly recommend using GCI tttf for your lawn renovation as well.

I have used GCI grass seed for many years with great success. This is the first year I added Protene starter fert and it has made a huge difference. It’s the fastest and best germination I have seen. 7-10 germination and needed a mow by week 3.

Customer service was unbelievable while I was waiting on the TTTF to come back in stock. I ordered 2 bags to cover my front yard that I’ve waited all summer to have grass in for the first time, and I honestly can not believe how beautiful it is. Without even mowing it yet, it’s already the nicest look in the neighborhood. Lord willing, I’ll never use another grass. Can’t say enough good things about this grass so far.

I couldn’t speak more highly of the Cool Blue. This picture is 4 weeks after seeding on a full reno. I’m in Kansas City for reference. I planted a little early (August 17th) to make sure the Kentucky Blue had enough time to grow before winter. I had germination in ~no kidding~ 2 days. I think I actually could have done my first mow about 2 weeks after seeding but I held off to let it get some length. Started using Protene when Pete introduced it to us. This stuff rocks! Prolonged steady growth and green-up and it's a full 5-course meal for your grass. If you compare it to feeding your own body - Protene is a home cooked meal; Your typical big box store fertilizers are a single dose of steroids. I live in zone 5a with Kentucky Bluegrass overseeded with Perennial Ryegrass and this stuff makes it glow with minimal effort.

Saw a lot of reviews saying they got germination within a handful of days to a week. Mine took closer to 2, but it picture is 3 weeks post overseeding with GCI Cool Blue. Had some pretty bare spots from skid loader setting foundation for shed and around the utilities transformer that came in very nice.

Wanted to try KBG in a small section of my yard and I am glad I did. Germinated in 7 days and is growing well. The picture is at the 22 day mark. I bought a greenworks 5 blade real mower and set the cut height at 1-1/8. Other than squirrels burying peanuts in the lawn everything is great!

GCI TTTF is by far the best grass seed I’ve used. Germination in 4-5 days. When you follow Pete’s GCI Turf Cool Season Lawn Guide, your yard will be the envy of the neighborhood. I had to use it this spring for getting my phosphorus up in my dirt. The prills seem to hang around a while I can still see them on bare dirt they don't seem to wash away in the heavy rain we have had this spring. Seems to give my lawn that deep color that I'm looking for. Get Your Dirt Right!
