I love the Castle Arts pencils!! I have the Soft Touch 120, the Metallic 48, and now the Pasteltints 48!! I'm just a beginner colorist but it keeps my mind busy!! These large sketchbooks have nice paper for colored pencil (lots of tooth). There is a sturdy cardboard back to the book, so you can draw directly out of the book without a drawing board or table. I've really been enjoying these pencils. The set has some beautiful pastel colors that complement my full set of colored pencils. Several of the colors are very nice for skin tones. This is our go to pencil for coloring. The lead is super smooth and you don’t have to press hard for good color and pigment. They blend easily and provide even color lay down. My only gripe is that because the leads are softer, they do break easier and leave crumbs across the page. Don’t wipe the crumbs off the page though as this will leave streaks across your image. Blow them off and you should be fine. This is not a deterrent for me and I have bought the Gold 120 set twice now.

I'm a professional portrait artist. It's my job to know about mediums. Prismacolor is a nice product, and I do own a few. But Castle is a comparable product at a much more reasonable price. And then I get the nicest quality pigments.

The pencils are great! Good coverage and vivid detail. Definitely worth the price if you love to color. Don’t know that I’d recommend them for people just goofing around. There are cheaper options for people like that. But by all means to each their own!

Absolutely love the watercolor pencils! They lay down dry beautifully and after adding water, the pigments turns to a vibrant almost creamy smooth color. The colors pop, electric like neons. The leads do not break easy at all. I sharpened and swatched all the pencils without any breakage. The pencils themselves are lovely, they arrived carefully wrapped and packaged. Both the pencils and the zipper binder are of excellent quality. The colors lie down smoothly. They seem true to the color that you would expect. I have had no trouble with breakage when sharpening. I was so happy with the quality that I’ve already ordered two additional sets as well as two coloring books.

Some of the best pencils yet I do like the case that they come in as it keeps them in order as I'm a beginner this helps me out a lot. I do like the way they color as the color lays down easily and have no problem with leads breaking they're a great pencil some of the best I've used.

I have used them for a while now and I have to say that they feel very smooth while coloring, and the colors are nice and vibrant. Colors lay down perfectly. They're quite soft which could be a good thing for getting vivid colors easily, but the pencil would run out faster for someone that lays down color with a heavy hand. I like it because I use light pressure and build color. I'd recommend their colors whole heartedly. I have the watercolor pencils as well, but haven't used them as watercolors that much yet.

If you like metallic colored pencils, these are for you! Lots of colors. See in the photo, I filled in the tester sheet and I use it. The colored band on the ends of the pencils is not accurate enough, but the tester sheet shows me the colors. I use these often.

I absolutely love this water color paper. You get a pack of 2 20 sheet, so in total you will get 40 sheets of 140lb watercolor paper. I used the 72 count colored pencils to see if they would transition into watercolor and they do. They blend amazing, and paper help up with the transition as well. I will be buying more, don't sleep on these. I am very picky when it comes to art supplies. I am glad I took a chance on them. I will be buying for gifts and myself.

I have old set of 120 colored pencils but I love this gold set more. It lay down color so smoothly. It feel like Derwent colorsoft but it won't break easily. I love the vibant color and core softness. It won't hurt my hand when I color. I definitely recommend this gold set of 120 pencils.
