A little bit of these paints goes a long way. The colors are rich and easy to blend. They lay down easily and are the right consistency. They also dry quick enough that layering multiple colors is possible. They stay in place and don't drip. Can be used over the top of all of the colored pencils as well.

I LOVE these colored pencils. So much in fact I am planning to buy the other sets. The art I submitted does not do them justice because I was still testing them out but I’m so happy with this set. I have been using Caslte Arts for years. Been wanting to get the 120 gold set for a while now, it is such and excellent upgrade from the 72 set. These pencils performed quite well. They blended, layered and burnished well, even on sanded paper. They played well with other colored pencil brands and took odorless mineral spirits well, too. Awesome colored pencils for the price. Very smooth, but I do find that some of the pencils lack the smooth consistency of the others. If you are going to swatch, double check your pencil! Some of mine came out of order slightly. I would recommend to anyone who likes to color.

Love the gold pencils, I wish they sold them individually, good quality really only one issue with the lead not being in center of pencil and one splintered pencil. Those are definitely outliers to the set. I really like them.

After much research, I decided on Castle Arts colored pencils. I am not an artist at ALL. I wanted beautiful colors to use for adult coloring books for stress relief. I loved several of their options but decided on the Harmonious collection. They are softer colors that are absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely be adding more collections soon.

One more thing…I learned more from the 27 page coloring guide that came with my purchase than I’ve learned in a year of coloring. These oil based colored pencils are beautiful the color selection is generous and the pigment is rich and soft. I recommend after bringing them inside your home to allow the pencil case to warm up to room temperature before first using. They sharpen easily but must use careful sharpening motion by holding the pencil steady and turning the sharpener around the pencil making sure only the color is being sharpened and not the wood shaft until needed as to keep a good amount of wood to support the p...

I was hesitant at first to order art supplies from anywhere other thank Blick Art but I took a chance on this set because the colors are just gorgeous. I typically use Derwent pencils because I'm a watercolor artist and let me tell you, this set is just as good! I haven't wet them down yet but the feel of the lead is so smooth and the color is very rich given that they're pastels. I love this set and would highly recommend adding it to your supplies!

For 40 years I have been a prismacolor girl. I purchased the harmonious colors for the color pallet and price. Overall they were very good. They were a bit scratchy and blending wasn't as smooth and buttery as the prismacolor pencils, but the color is fantastic. You cannot layer and build as much as you can with prismacolor but you can achieve good coverage. Truly lovely pencils, the colors are gorgeous and they blend beautifully. This piece was my first full picture done with the Harmonious set, and I think I will be using them often. I only used a couple of other pencils from the Pasteltint and Metallic collections toward the end.
