The quality is fantastic, and you just want to hold them. They are very tactile smooth and obviously good wood. The sound of them is excellent and as a total beginner I really enjoy them. I found my new musical spoons in a low pitch which is very suited the the Celtic music sessions we play in Australia. the high pitch musical spoons draws attention when a musician plays out of beat. I purchased both the large and the small spoons and love them both. I especially enjoy the large ones, which have a wider range of sounds available. The deeper tone in the large spoons is appealing but both play with great ease and the playing techniques on the instructional videos have been easy to learn. I took them to a gathering of church leaders in Canmore, AB and played them on a traditional Quebecois folk song. I love their responsiveness. They are a lot of fun to play.

Great instruments. I have played spoons since 1971 and in the "New Stillwater River Draggers" Jug Band at the University of Maine. I have used homemade spoon sets using heavy "NAVY" spoons and even bought wooden pairs online but these are absolutely the best. I ordered a Large one recently and liked it so much I ordered the medium and small too. A great instrument and a great high-quality product!

This is my second order of Heritage Spoons. I bought the medium size the first time and I love it. I got two of the smaller spoons this time around, one for me because I wanted the higher pitch for when I'm playing with an additional percussionist on a full kit, and one for my 5yr old son who thinks it's so much fun to play along. The product is amazing, and the tutorials on the site are wonderful.

They are good quality and sound although it will be a while before any talent can be acquired by me. The small size is perfect for a junior/youngish/small handed person. Middle size perfect for me…a robust handed woman. I hope the large size will not be too large for the man…intended for a birthday gift next month. Versatile, intuitive, well made instrument. I'm a percussionist and was able to play them pretty well straight out of the box. I keep them on my desk. When I'm working and need a little break, I'll grab them and jam out for a few minutes alongside whatever music I have playing. I bought a set of three, and found I like the large size best. I’m a complete beginner, but it is very enjoyable trying to get somewhere near the level of Felix. I have tried cheaper versions, but these are by far the best. The only problem I have is trying to fit in enough practice while avoiding the divorce court !

When I saw the advert I just loved the concept of the spoons and the tune just made me happy. I am not at all musical but felt I had to have a go. My spoons came in good time and I wasted no time in getting them out of the box. Although I’m probably better doing it on my own I absolutely love playing these spoons. I got the large spoons in black, and it's a really striking instrument, really beautifully built. The large spoons are a little larger than I imagined, about the size of serving spoons, but they're very light and feel good in the hand. They're quite loud and resonant, and the cup shapes on the top and bottom let you get different types of timbres out of them. I'm going to get a matching black pair of medium spoons for the higher pitches, and maybe even a small pair as well.
