The MDV +1 is a fantastic EDC option that's lightweight and fun to use. It has excellent ergonomics and fits my hand like a glove. Watch Skallywag's videos on using the knife and the Rhino sheath; they helped me speed through the learning curve. EXCELLENT customer service as well.

This stuff is great. I’ve used different types of tape to do what this is made for. Like using duct tape to make a ridge, then covering it with electrical tape, for a sort of tacky feel. A “true” tacky feel that monkey tape is made to not only have/do, but to have that tackiness without smearing the tape’s adherence all over you or your gear/hands. This is my second skallywag blade and I've got to say, it's a solid blade and now my EDC. It's very comfortable in the hand and the right amount of weight. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the sheath. The screw that locks it in place from changing positions comes loose very easy and the retention of the sheath isn't anywhere close to as stiff as my first blade. 2nd day wearing it the screw came loose and it rotated upside down and fell out of the sheath. Otherwise the knife itself is awesome!

Lightweight, good steel, stealth well thought out, and knife spot on on length. The pommel hook is great for pulling put of pocket with nothing but a pinky. Also pommel hook fits into belt loop perfectly with scout carry. Pommel hook gives a great secure hand retention feel that gives confidence. Thumb grip grooves and ramp angle is great. Reverse grip feels great and natural also. A hard knife design and feel to beat. Good job.

Wow! If I ever had to hunt down a xenomorph or another hostile alien species, this would be my go-to. Incredibly sharp and excellent fit and finish. Should cost $500 plus. Thanks guys.

The Damascus D2 dagger is gorgeous! I do prefer the upgraded sheaths to the default sheaths for the D2 daggers. The black Kydex looks more consistent with the other sheaths, especially since I had custom black Kydex sheaths made for the Transformers.

I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner last night. HE called me after I incorrectly ordered something. I called as soon as I realized it and 1 minute later emailed them. 20ish minutes later the call came from a real person who was actually fun to talk to. The issue got fixed. So, not only do they have amazing products, they care about the customers on a personal level. Very impressed with the knifes and company!

I got it as a pair with the trainer. Dropped the trainer once. My son just wore my MDV to the beach and came back with just the sheath. About to order the replacement. I hope whoever finds it puts it to good use. The gunners mate and MDV are my favorite two knives.

Trainer for sheath draw practice, so stoked these are back in stock. My hands are a bit too big for a four finger grip. After many wraps with 2 inch hockey tape it spreads the fingers just enough to make the grip comfortable for me.

Arrived sharp, nylon sheath is firm. The light weight and slim profile make it a great boot knife. I will say the description says 8CR stainless and the one I have shows 440 stainless(not sure if this is an error on the site or an oversight) I would advise wrapping the handle in paracord however as gripping it tight can cause some discomfort.

The folder is solidly built with a perfectly shaped blade for cutting with a draw or a push cut. It has enough weight to be employed as a mass multiplier for punches and a slightly barbed end with a glass breaker that can be used for many purposes. The Plus One is an easy-to-deploy under stress blade that doesn't require fine motor skills to index on and pull. The chisel grind makes it easy to maintain a razor-sharp edge.

This stuff is great. I have been known to try to make gripping segments on things. But this tape makes a great gripping application. It seems to almost be tacky, and I don’t see or feel anything wiping off. My only problem with this tape is, I don’t have enough….lol

The MDV knife is well made and very comfortable to hold. The monkey tape adds a great addition to the handle. Once the sheath and knife are placed in position behind your belt it’s very secure. Have not had any issues while hiking or walking around. A great addition to your EDC.

I have several knives from Skallywag, but I've wanted a boarding axe for a while now. I follow on Instagram and get the emails so when the blemish sale came up I knew it was my moment. I struck fast and got my axe. I love the size and weight of it. It's chiseled good looks with the solid grip is great. This was a good buy for me.

I took the bait on the Mako & an Orca, sold as 'hard use' knives. I am terribly hard on knives, a tool I use daily. I keep a polished razor edge on those that maintain one. The more I handle it, the more comfortable it becomes. The way that you can use it as dual purpose weapon. With two fingers in with my right hand ( I’m a southpaw). I can still grab my pistol. I really like the thought process that went into the design of the MDV+1 I am going to wrap the handle in sting ray skin. SO I have a real good grip. I really like this blade and the concepts for use. Fortunately, I retired in '04, so I think the dagger and I both will stay sheathed for the present. The MDV Folder in Titanium is a wicked little Folder! The knife is beautiful and to me, reminds me of a figting version of a chris reeve folder! Just has fast if not a little faster than when deploying one of my OTF's! The customer service I received was really impressive! Craig took care of me when I had an issue with my order.
