An altogether excellent knife! I have seen it compared to the knife used in Crocodile Dundee, a copy of which I also have, but the Gunnersmate is much better balanced. It also appears to be practically indestructible, being made of 1/4 inch D2 steel. I think that it will the perfect companion for a walk in the woods, not too heavy to wear on your belt, but stout enough to handle any use that a knife might be put to.

Had to knock a star off sadly... These are great knives to carry in the summer with shorts and no belt. The clip grips really well the opening at the top is large enough to get a good grip. The nurled sections are grippy without being rough. I have a benchmade and a spartan like this and I like the feel of the skallywag best.

Sorry, can't send a photo but as for the trainer, this is awesome!. I can now deploy this knife right handed, left handed, no handed out of the left pocket or right or of my shirt and never need a bandied! It's great to play with while watching the TV, I can't recommend this more highly to anyone who buys the real deal.

The Guardian is one fearsome blade. One that is hefty in the hand and needs to be handled with care and respect. Pictures on the internet do not do it justice. The moment you actually see it and put it in your hand you just know. In the hands of a trained user this blade must be terrifying - it is utterly savage. It’s also really different. My personal opinion is that any new owner MUST watch the video on you tube or take a course from Mike Don Vito in order to learn how to use it properly...

I've been looking for the perfect EDC knife for quite awhile and after trying/buying many, this is the one that gets it done. It has it all, different ways to deploy it and a glass breaker on the back that doesn't poke a hole in your hand if you brush against it. As I got older I found that using a hole or a stud to open the knife got harder so I got into the ones with a flipper and that worked. I bought two rhino sheaths, one for the live blade and one for the trainer. One of them is a little bit smaller and the way it opens is a little different due to manufacturing, but they both still work perfectly! Initially I thought that you can only carry it on a belt, but while it does work best that way, you can carry it in your pocket (if you drag the horn across the fabric of your pocket as you take the blade out, it’ll release the knife and the sheath falls back in) and even hook it on the...

These D2 Daggers are the best and most practical self defense/GTFO knives anyone could own. Great, well balanced, purpose driven fixed blade. Excellent choice of blade steel. Disappointing sheath, not worthy of the knife! The blade fits so tightly in the sheath, it can only be deployed with one hand holding the sheath while simultaneously using the other hand to pull the knife. If I wanted to have a two handed defense blade, I would have purchased a sword! Don't know yet whether I should send it back, or take a heat gun to the sheath to try and loosen it up a little.

Top quality. The liner lock configuration threw me for a minute, being opposite of the others I’ve used. It was also very stiff until I oiled and opened and closed it for a bit.

Skallywag makes great blades and this was no exception and this one exceeded my expectations. It was a difficult decision to go with the spear point or the Tanto design. The build quality feel balance and design made for an excellent blade and so I decided to order the Tanto also and am looking forward to the delivery.

Great defensive folder! Well made, no blade wiggle, smooth open from the pocket. Pocket clip is strong with good retention but not so stiff that it takes a crowbar to get it out of your pocket. Well done on this one Skallywag.

The boarding axe is an absolute monster. I finally got to put it to use and chopped up a few cedar trees with it. The cutting edge only took the tiniest glint and still razor sharp after all that abuse. Can't recommend this unit of a tool enough.

The blade was sold as blemished. I found a dark area on the front of the blade but when I wiped it the spot disappeared. On the bottom of the edge, back side there was a rough spot that looked like bad coating. When I checked it, I found the edge was rolled over from when the edge was ground. I hit this with a ceramic rod and the problem was gone. To me the knife was not blemished it was unfinished. This knife has a fantastic design in the past I have carried a cough and handled dagger for inch blade in a leather pouch and similar fashion.
