I have quite an avid collection of Skallywag blades and this one, like the others is outstanding. Awesome components, very well made and sharp. Some of the best made blades out there. Huzzahhhhh

I love this dagger. It was the same one I had on the set of Superman and I wanted to have a memento to the experience. The quality can definitely be seen in these blades!

I have been waiting for at least two years for these to be back in stock. When they became available, I was super stoked! I purchased the standard D2 versions with trainers. I will say that this knife is heavy compared to the trainer. This is due to the difference in materials; mainly due to the fact that the trainer is manufactured from aluminum. The trainer is a definite must being that the live blade is extremely sharp upon purchasing. The mdv is so sharp that when removing from the sheath s...

I bought the professional Guardian serrated, and it is a beast. Not for carving a turkey. It’s for deep trusting and it’s built like a tank. I’m a former Marine and a retired heat treater so I love a good knife and I know steel. I love D2. Harder than Chinese arithmetic but tough, not brittle. Wide spine with a deep concave grind to allow for more wigth in the spine. The point switches to a diamond point for added strength and mass. It’s a tank. Serrations are sharp but tough. It’s expensive but w...

Skallywag never disappoints and they didn’t with this knife. It’s well-made, as expected from Skallywag, and sharp as can be. The handle was a bit smaller than I thought it would be but still fits my hand. I added a small paracord lanyard to ensure no fumbling if I have to draw it in a hurry. It’s a nice “little” addition to my Skallywag collection.

Very sharp out of the box, excellent fit and finish. Instead of using grip (monkey) tape I used about 30 rubber o-rings to add grip and a little padding on the handle. Great sheath that accommodates a fast draw. Highly recommended.

Great folder, larger and heavier than expected, smooth ball bearing action. Solid lock, and good steel, exactly what I’ve come to expect from Skallywag. I picked up one for dad and a few others for myself, my brother, nephew, etc,…

As you can see, I have many of your tactical knives . This folder is my favorite EDC. I love how it deploys in many useful ways . I love the shape and the functionality of the blade and it is very sharp. Would recommend this folder to anybody that wanted a really good EDC !

The ergonomics of this knife are perfect for my XL size hands. It seats so well in the hand and held in place by the frame on top and bottom. I really like the dorsal fin when open that allows me to push in or pull back with a firm grip. The ball bearings are still a stiff deploy. Flipping alone only goes halfway, requires a flip and flicking motion to deploy all the way out. It’s gotten a little looser the more I’ve played with it, but still requires that double motion. The frame lock is on the...

I have aways carried folders and pocket knives . I like how this knife is designed light but 💪 strong , and the rhino horn S. Is the frosting on the cake. Top shelf CO and products.

This baby is awesome! I’ve been looking for a top quality push knife for a long time. Most I’ve found are ridiculously expensive, or poor quality. The Duggan feels good in my hand, the blade is great quality and extremely sharp. I also love the size of it, small enough to EDC.

It may be a mini but, it's a maxi to me! This knife cuts like a razor! All I did was strop the blade. Now I got a 2" scalpel. Well made. I was nervous because of the price being low, but I am ecstatic on this blade. My new edc, in my front pocket. I plan on buying more from skallywag in the future. Pete P.

I needed a new EDC and I knew I wanted something similar to what I was already carrying. My friend showed me his privateer and it fit the bill perfectly. Nice weight, sharp blade, quick and easy to open. This was my first Skallywag knife, but it won’t be my last.

Skallywag, yous did it to me again lol. You made another product I absolutely love. Firstly, lemme say that I am a HUGE fan of the Skallywag Daggers (both aluminum and steel) because of their design and operator friendly functionality. With that being said, I’ve always been curious of the MDV+1 design. And like when I bought my Daggers (and any combat tool I acquire/if feasible) I bought the MDV trainer first and used it during my CQB and BJJ sparring. Right off the bat, I absolutely fell in lov...

Beautiful, heavy duty combat knife ! Very impressed by its functionality . Very sharp, right out of the box. Can be used for many more heavy duty jobs ! I have been a martial artist since 1966 , I have multiple black belts and what I taught the most was knife fighting . During Vietnam, a knife was my primary weapon, which is probably why I now have a half dozen Skallywag knives, including the MDV plus 1 the MDV folder, guardian the Razorback, and now this beautiful Redonda 👌 !

This was worth the wait.. I was able to get both the blade and the trainer.. I love the quality of this trainer.. alot of trainers kinda seem like a after thought, I'm here to tell you this one isn't. If you get the MVD+1 you owe it to yourself to get the trainer also .. and FYI get two rolls of monkey tape.

I love this blade! Very cool and effective design. I have fairly large hands and I can get all four fingers wrapped around the grip. And that's not always possible on most easily concealed self-defense knives. Highly recommended.

Great Knife, strong frame, smooth action and very well sharpened. Perfect EDC blade, simple, tough and practical, blade shape is a nice departure from the norm, quite unique looking but very functional. Highly recommended.

Actually my bride got this one for me because I was torn between the orange and the purple Mantis. I didn't want to be greedy so, I chose the orange, and she surprised me with the purple 💜. I love that she gets me. Yes, as you can see I added my own flare. LIL MANTis man lanyard for ease of deployment, retention and acquisition. The clip is so it can easily be transferred to different carry positions or equipment. ie high, low, small of the back etc. You get the picture. I think a kydex sheath...

I bought this MDV folder back in October as a “blem” blade. After receiving it I couldn’t find a scratch on it. I did some research and it was sold as a “blem” because the glass breaker would come loose. I enjoyed this because I took the glass breaker off anyway. Although I haven’t had to use this knife (I bought it strictly as a self defense weapon) I carry it everyday. It has held up well being carried daily and is super lightweight. I have the original MDV+1 as well and couldn’t recommend the...

I've been looking for a straight blade, ringed, EDC knife for quite a while. Until I found this one, every other knife was either incredibly expensive or cheap Chinese junk. Also, the fact that that ring is raised instead of lining up with the back of the handle makes it much more ergonomic than many other knives of this type.

So far seems to be a good knife. Haven’t had the opportunity to use it yet in the kitchen. Just beware, the sheath leaves little strands in the knife so be sure to wipe it off before using it

Man what a fun tool! I have yet to use it but just holding it in your hand is a satisfying experience. I can’t say I’m surprised because this is my 5th or 6th Skallywag blade but it keeps reinforcing my appreciation for the work these guys put out. Oh, and it’s worth mentioning that this was a blem item but the only issue is cosmetic: blade, spike, and handle are all exactly as you’d expect. Thanks guys!

So far really love this knife. Came sharp as hell. It’s comfortable any way you handle it, in regular grip or reverse grip. Only thin I didn’t like was the bulky belt clip , easily removed added Discrete Cary concept clip works well for now. Still very new to me so I will be carrying it a lot more . I trade off between the MDV and this they’re both very good knives. Hard to choose between the both at times. Thank you everyone over at Skallywag for a bitch’in blade.

The MDV is the ultimate carry knife. I have it affixed to my belt with the retention holster ranger-style, accessible with either left or right hand. I love it & never leave home without it. I also ordered the trainer--I don't love it. Should fit the same sheath in order to practice draw.

The almighty EDC Kunai that looks as though it was acquired in an Outworld quest! I dig this thing, it’s a fine piece of craft I love carrying around! Now if only the trainer blade can hurry up and get back in stock I can work on my sweet sweet Kombat moves! Finish Them! 🤣🤙🏾

The perfect EDC self-defense knife. It conceals well whether in the pocket or on the belt. It disappears. Most knives are a one trick pony; I can eye gouge with it, apply pressure points, and handle it while shooting. I love it enough to start gifting it.

I own numerous knives from Skallywag. They are all well built and hold an edge incredibly well. They also last, but I like knives, so I keep buying. I have done a side by side comparison in the photos to show one of their more expensive folders next to a less expensive folder. Both are good strong knives, with the material and the actual knife body being different. Both are comfortable, albeit in different ways. Either way, you won’t go wrong. I use the Jolly Roger for every day, utilitarian tas...

The MDV +1 is a knife with a purpose - providing you with one of the ultimate bladed tools for use in self-defense. It's diminutive size allows for easy concealment, while the shape was purposely designed to enhance your ability to defend your person. Like many Skallywag Tactical blades, it's lethally sharp, and can handle the job for which it was designed. The rhino sheath is simply genius. I bought one for my wife, one for myself, and two trainers. Thanks to the Skallywag crew for selling such...

Love the blade, glad I got damascus version as it gives a few extra style points. Feels great in the hand and the low profile makes it great for edc. no printing with this guy. Rhino sheath design is awesome. Thanks for making such a great product at a reasonable price point for us normal people.

I love the design of the MDV. I actually thought a trainer was going to be included with the purchase of the Damascus version. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I also think that the retention of the sheath isn’t quite right, even after adjusting the bands. I’d better acquire another rhino sheath and some extra bands to see if I can get a bit more of a secure retention feeling. The rhino sheath that came with it just doesn’t seem to allow the knife to snap into a firmly held place, so I’m afraid it might fall out if I move...

Been a fan of this design since seeing it on GM Bram Franks page. Love the quality and option of spear point or tanto. Now, if an EDC or CC version (7”-9”) was available, I’d definitely be in for one of those as well.

From the packaging to the heft and feel of the blade I am very happy with it! This will be the knife I carry with me while I hunt in the Colorado wilderness. The blade is exceptionally thick and incredibly sharp. The handle feels sturdy and sure in the hand. I bought this as a blemish as I had been debating buying the knife full price. I’m glad I waited because there is no discernible blemish I can find and I got the blade for an awesome price! This is not my first Skallywag knife nor will it be...

I’m sooo pleased that it got through Customs! Such things are always a concern nowadays here in Canada! This knife is a thing of beauty! Extremely well designed! It feels very solid and the Damascus steel seems to be of a very high quality! It will be very useful no matter what kind of grip is used! I even like how the handle can be used as an eye gouge! I WILL be getting another one!! Thank you Skallywag!!😊👍

As always with Skallywag…fast shipping, nice packaging, well built product, razor sharp. This is the sharpest out-of-the-box knife by far! Great EDC knife. Though it’s not designed for self-defense, it could definitely be used to protect yourself. Great looking knife, tough but not bulky. Fits inside pocket nicely.

Outstanding fit and finish, build quality is top notch in everything purchased so far. Went up on the Armory wall with a pair of Skallywag Valhalla to keep them company, among other implements. I have always been overwhelmingly happy with shipping, quality, and customer service from Skallywag. Top tier end to end.
