We had a wonderful with our Murder Mystery Party! This was my husband's birthday party. We ended up adding in some "mini-games" in between the rounds - HIGHLY recommend. It was great to break up the script readings with the activities and kept the party going (and drinks flowing). We would totally do this again!

My first time hosting a murder mystery party and it was really fun. Planing the next already with another Masters of mystery kit. The kit includes everything you need. I suggest doing it with a small group for the first time like we did, first time it was only 6 of us. Next time there will be 12-14 people.
I love that you can reuse the kit and play again with a different result. We had a lot of fun.

Next time I would give character books up to round 2 out a couple weeks before and then once the murderer is picked before round 2 I would, as the hostess, use a marker to mark out the innocent script for the murderer and the guilty script for the innocents and pass those out then. It took around 2 hours to complete but really cool having the videos to play in between which added something different we’ve not had before at other murder mystery parties!! We had a blast. The 80s pack was so much fun to dress for and the slag was fun too. My group was committed to their customers and characters. 3/7 of us guessed the correct murderer. We would buy another pack. Pro tip: I made a slide show to help me keep the game flow moving and I embedded the videos and evidence with instructions for each round. It helped me relax into my character rather than focusing on hosting.

This is a really comprehensive kit, a week ahead I read the host instructions and messaged people their character and costume hints. On the night everyone was dressed up and had a printed booklet (you definitely need a printer!) and it’s so clever how the murderer was picked and both the innocent and guilty scripts are in each pack so it’s seamless AND you can play it again with the same people. I had a laptop hooked up to the TV for the detective clues which also worked really well.
