I am a 20 year full-time voice over talent. I've been using nothing but the MKH416 for last 7 years. I had read good reviews (and YouTube videos) about the Roswell Mini K87 and thought 'why not' try something new. WOW. This is one of the most versatile, yet clean microphones I've ever owned. It has all the 'good' things without any of the bad. Warmth but still has clarity. Presence without the harshness or mid range honk. I think I found my 'new' forever mic. Can't beat it for ...

At South Shore Recording Labs we record Bluegrass and all Acoustic music. We use a Roswell mini k87 HO on upright bass and a Roswell mini k47 on Dobro thru Rupert Neve preamps for a pure natural sound into a DAW. Ken Thomas

I recently purchased my 2nd mini k-47 mic. After 2 years of using this mic on vocals, acoustic guitar, voice over, and mono drum overhead, I found it to be reliable on capturing the source quite well. To my ears, there is a bit of weight or thickness I can get when capturing voices or sources that may be thinner sounding with this mic without all the extra muddiness or boxy midrange . The top end has never sounded harsh or brittle. If you are looking for a super bright mic, this is not the mic. ...

The quality speaks for itself in the craftsmanship and care that goes into Roswell Audio microphones, and the Cab Mic is no different. From the physical essence of the Soylent Green enclosure, to the audio clarity of "it sounds like you're in front of the amp," it makes this a no-brainer choice to have in any mic locker. I'm excited to continue putting it through it's paces, as well as seeing how it fares on other studio needs beyond just guitar cabinets, and I expect to find it holds up well...

Did a personal shoot out between my mk47 and a Dachman, and although I still might purchase a Dachman in the future, the Mk47 won-out in versatility of sound for cab recording, vocals, voice over — you name it. Only thing I wish it came with was the carrying case — they were out of stock when I bought it. Would love to find a way to still get that :) Great mic — I made the right choice. Thanks for making quality gear, Matt.

I'm still searching for the optimum position for me on piano, but so far they sound great anyway. I'm really going for nuance here. I can't wait to try them on on things—voice, guitar, and anything else that makes noise in my studio!

I wanted my mic to be dark and to blend into the background while recording. I went with "None More Black" and it is beautiful. It is exactly what I dreamed about.

I only do one thing. I narrate books as a volunteer for Librivox.org. I could never make a living as a book narrator because my voice isn't nearly as good as it would need to be. So, I'm always searching for a mic that works well with what I was born with. I favor Roswell and Mic-Parts mics because they work well with my voice and are a great value. The Aztec is at the top of my mic locker's list, and I may start selling off my other mics. There are a lot. I love the sound of the Aztec. Still no...

This is a no nonsense, high quality and potentially great value mic. Great addition to my studio. The Mini K67x shines on vocals and acoustic guitars. Highly recommended. UK customers please note and account for having to pay an extra $125 on top of the purchase price, for the carrier’s UKGov HMRC tax release fees.

The absolute highest standard in the industry, supported by Chris clear depth and overall wide spectrum of eyes medium pitch Lowe's and even false vocal manipulation like inverted singing and screaming. I love how the intensifying vocal switch can reduce or decline the overall intake of sound, which is great for quiet whispering or with a flip of a switch into scream vocal arrangements.

The K87 has been a tremendous upgrade for my humble home studio. While I've never had the opportunity to work with the expensive microphones that it is being compared to I've been extremely impressed with its performance. The depth and clarity of my recordings have an even better than the real thing quality to them with no need for any EQ or other filters. The one drawback is that now I want to re-record everything I've ever done with my "affordable" microphones! This might be the best piece of ...

Love it easy to gain stage sounds amazing for vocals and guitar I prefer it over my shure sm7b the shure obviously is nice too but a big learning curve plus you have to have the right equipment for it, the Roswell pairs perfectly with my model 12 and my otari reel to reel to me it’s amazing it won’t let you down

The Mini K47 with custom Seafoam green not only looks great, but has already displaced my previous favorite dynamic mic on my carbon fiber guitar cabinet that I designed and built , running the Frenzel mini-Bassman head. The Audio-Technica AE2300 was a nice step up from the Shure std, but the mini K47 has permanently replaced it after mixing down 4 songs this week with pedal steel. I have used and shown it here coupled with an old Shure 315 ribbon. Not sacrificing any transient detail or harmoni...

Over the years I had several mikes and even in the Nineties I had a real Neumann U47, but when the tube went bad I found out it was impossible to obtain one below $4.000 and nowadays the price of one is (if you can find it) well over $7.000 so I bought several others over the years, searching for that perfect sound! I have a SE Gemini II, A Neumann U87 and two yeards ago I bought a Dave Pearlmann TM 47, which sounded very good.. Then I read about The Rosswell Colares and it got me very curious....

Really loving this mic, only had it for few weeks but it is defiantly holding it's own and is quickly moving into being one of my workhorse mic's. Acoustic guitar, Vocals, Electric guitar cab, everything it goes on really shines. Plus put it through a good Pre-amp 1073 or 512 and WOW. Yep you really need to check the Delphos II out!

Me, I’m a drummer and an engineer. I’ve been following Matt’s work since he started Recording Hacks, and am so grateful for his contributions to the recording community. For the past 8 years, my kick drum mic chain has been either a D112 or Heil PR40 in, with a microphone parts mini-mod’d MXL 910 (2013 kit) on the outside thru a UAD Neve Unison pre. I finally decided to mix things up and bought a K47. Wow, what a difference! The bass frequencies immediately became tighter and easier to mix. I’ve...

The Mini K87 excels on Vocals (Male/Female), Bass, Overheads, Piano Low End, Acoustic Guitar and Bass, Strings etc. Matt was so helpful helping me select mics for my studio that match what I am trying to do musically. The Mini K87 and less has Midrange than the Mini K47/47x and is more flat than the 67x. I have a Mini K87 in my main recording room for talkback, layering lead vocals and bass heavy instruments. Thanks Matt & Roswell Pro Audio. My mics shipped next day locally within Sonoma County ...

I absolutely love the sound of this mic for voiceover. It’s clear and adds just the right touch of warmth to my voice. The MK87 could easily be twice the price and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it or recommend it to a colleague. And let’s be honest. Being able to customize your mic is just fun!
