Still need some time to really dive into this mic. So far, only session has been on a backing vocal part, and then just a comparison when I first purchased vs. AKG 414C. The mic is tremendously sturdy, and has this characteristic I can't quite articulate which has a bit of added clarity to the 414, without feeling it has the sharp high-end that some condensers have. Before I owned one myself, I'd used a K67x on a home session, capturing a vocal I was certain was the keeper. I had the opportunity during a subsequent studio session to record a vocal for the same song with a vintage Neumann U67. I love the warm, full-range, natural sound the Mini K87 provides. The lows are full, deep, and warm. The highs aren't harsh or thin. These mics are incredible. I was looking for a while for a new pair of drum-overs and after talking to a few friends and watching some videos I gave the Delphos 2 a shot. At the recommendation of an audio engineer acquaintance and the Tape Op review, I purchased the Mini K87 as a long-overdue upgrade for recording my own violin playing, occasional vocals, and general talking use. The Mini K47 has now taken center stage at the David From Earth Music Hut. With its small footprint (or better "space print") and such a huge, lush sound it has beat out others of larger girth and price to be the go-to, default vocal mic, wired up and ready to go. Only had for couple weeks but after comparing to 3 other 67 clones I have, It's making recording and mixing so much easier.
