Typical Walthers Proto product the couple of things I would have to complain about is the couplers being to low and the whole set up for installing a light board to light the car up but to me I can just put some brass sheets and bend them into form and put them into the car and get them to light like this.
I'm a huge Santa Fe Railroad Nut I love the beautfull paint schemes on the Diesels and Steam locomotives are awesome to I am trying to build my steam fleet and rolling stock more as well.

Prior to buying the Gold Rush set I was skeptical of the chassis. I figured I'd get one just so I can have a couple AMP chassis to check out and just in case they become incredibly collectible..lol. The truck bodies are awesome. The track is decent. The AMP chassis, not so much. They seem to run pretty decent. I had been looking for a slag car for quite some time. And I almost hate to review because I would like to pick up three more in the future and it would be great if it did not sell out.
Every thing in the kit is exactly what I like in a blank model. The instructions are easy to read but does need some micro drill bits and once I pick up a set of those the little details will get added to it.

For Initial slow running it seemed to jerk and stop. I turned up the throttle and it smoothed out - I guess it was "stiff" and needed to be run for a minute or so (warm up the lube?). It runs fine now, and has smooth slow-running. I didn't like the factory horn setting, sounds brash and tinny. I'd like to try the other horn options, but haven't figured out how to change it yet yet. It has nice detailing, excellent paint and markings. I would like to know the heritage of the GP20's.

This was a fairly easy kit to put together for someone with a bit of experience, and produced a nice-looking station for my layout (I skipped some details on the side that won't show). I chose to change the colors, and so repainted the pieces before construction. As usual, look. ahead as you're building to see if the current step affects future pieces, such as the knightheads fitting into the corners. A few very delicate fencing pieces arrived broken, and had to be omitted.

The Rapido 102021 "Easy Peasy" lighting kits that I received are not what is pictured on the website. The Factory Direct Hobbies website product photo shows the 5-1/2" x 7/16" skinny light kit where the light circuit board is shorter than the magnetic wand. I thought these shorter ones designed for N scale cars would work in my 42' HOn3 passenger cars. Absolutely beautiful detail. No other brand is as nice in my opinion. It runs super well and is reliable. Its been running hard for about 2 weeks. The reason for the 4 not a 5 is because the first thing I had to do was change the rear coupler. The locomotive has a bit of a rake to it and the factory coupler kept dropping its loads on curves. I tried many cars before changing it. My curves are mostly 24" and up. Also to me the sound seems slightly muffled compared to the other BLI engines I have....
