I got this pillow for my mom to use for face-down sleeping after retinal surgery as she needs to do this for a few months. I know this is not the intended use for it but it helped her greatly because the opening at the top allowed her to breathe and the pillow is so comfortable she has no issues with sleeping face down now. Highly recommended and I'm so glad I was able to find it because with normal pillows it was so difficult
